Japanese stars Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto and Tatsuya Kawajiri are expected to appear on the upcoming DREAM.11 event scheduled for October 6 at the Yokohama Arena in Kanagawa, Japan. No opponents have been named at this time.
DREAM.11 will air live on HDNet and features the DREAM featherweight grand prix semi-final and final along with the semi-final for the “Super Hulk” tournament.
Yamamoto, a native of Tokyo, Japan, possesses a mixed martial arts record of 17-2. Yamamoto recently returned to action after spending a year and a half on the sidelines rehabbing various injuries. Yamamoto’s return was spoiled by MMA newcomer Joe Warren who stole a split decision. Yamamoto holds victories over the likes of Rani Yahya, Bibiano Fernandes, Genki Sudo, Caol Uno, Royler Gracie, and Jeff Curran. Yamamoto was last in action with K-1 World Max 2009 where he was stopped by Jae Hee Cheon in a kickboxing contest.
Kawajiri possesses a mixed martial arts record of 24-5-1 with victories over the likes of Joachim Hansen, Yves Edwards, Vitor Ribeiro, Chris Brennan, Kultar Gill, and Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante. Kawajiri, much like Yamamoto, was in action at K-1 World Max 2009 where he was stopped by Masato.
