A pregnant Huntington Beach woman whom former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson reportedly sideswiped during his high-speed chase from police in California earlier this month has apparently had a miscarriage.
According to a report in the Daily Pilot, Holli Griggs was driving her Cadillac Escalade southbound when Jackson’s truck sideswiped her as he drove along the middle of the highway at approximately 45 mph while fleeing from Costa Mesa officers. Doctors reportedly noticed problems with Griggs in the days following the accident and a recent ultrasound confirmed that she had lost her baby.
Huntington Beach district attorney Farrah Emami has stated that while prosecutors have yet to file any formal charges against Jackson, her office is currently undergoing an investigation into the matter. However it has yet to be determined whether or not it was the accident that caused Griggs to lose her child.
Jackson was released on bail one day after his incident with police. UFC President Dana White reportedly paid the sum. Jackson was brought in by police for a mental evalution later that week after police received a call from worried friends and family about Jackson’s behavior. He will face violations of felony hit-and-run, evading police, and reckless driving on August 15th in court. Despite all of the above, the UFC is reportedly interested in matching Jackson up in a rematch with Wanderlei Silva at a planned November event.

Although that is a shame, miscarriages are quite common. Rampage aside, if anyone sideswiped her, they would not be legally held responsible for her miscarriage unless the person actually caused bodily harm.
Now bring in to light this is an ex-UFC champion, we’ll see if he gets treated fairly or they try to make an example out of him.
In no way am I condoning what he did and I have lost a lot of respect for him, but lets hope he gets treated as a person. Not a person they want to harpoon because of some white collar goverment worker’s hard on for UFC/mixed martial arts like Sen. McCain had for them.
He’ll be clear on the criminal charges if they ever even bring up any, which I seriously doubt. I’m sure she’ll try to sue for civil damages, which she shouldn’t win either. I feel sorry for her, but legally she has no leg to stand on.
P.S. - I think if Rampage is mentally and physically ready to fight, he should. Not for the fans or for the UFC, but this is this man’s job. Just because he’s in the limelight, doesn’t mean he has to shy away from the public. If anything like they say, the sooner you get back on the horse and overcome your struggles the better off you are. Sitting around doing nothing I fear will only exasperate his current troubles he’s been having.

Did anyone see the special the UFC did on Rampage? It started out with him riding around a department store on a kid’s tricycle while mimicking the sounds some unfortunate folks make who are vocally challenged. The man actually thought he was being funny. That tells you everything you need to know about Rampage. He is an ignorant, self centered, no class ass clown.
While its true that its yet to be determined just how much of a connection exists between this ass clown’s selfish and imbecilic actions and the miscarriage, assuming the lady has ‘no leg to stand on’ is pure and simple nonsense. And has no bearing in the law or reality.
What will be interesting is Komissar Dana White’s reaction to this unfortunate incident. After all, a man who thought men urinating all over themselves and destroying other people’s property would make for good ratings and was the image America needed to see of MMA fighters….there’s no telling how low White will go to try and take advantage of this incident if he thinks it might mean more money is White’s pocket.
What he SHOULD be doing is getting Jackson whatever professional and legal help he needs…which at this point is considerable.
Stating that this is no big deal, that Rampage should be allowed to fight etc etc demonstrates how completely clueless the typical American MMA ‘fan’ is to either the realities of life, the law and the fight game.
Money talks..that is certainly true. But Rampage should pay for this and pay heavily.

Here we go. blah blah blah.
If this was ANYONE else, you wouldn’t hear about it again. There are actors who have actually run people over and some have lead to death! and they walk away scott free.
You watch a taped promo for UFC and you think you know Rampage?
I’ve been watching this guy since he debuted in Pride. Just recently he’s had his troubles and been cast in a bad light. I’ve been following mma for over 11 years, I’m by no means “a typical American mma fan”.
I feel sorry for the woman, but if there were any charges they thought could stick, they would’ve charged him already. They have no case.
It seems you don’t like Rampage, take that out of the equation and tell me how you feel then.

I’ve been watching rampage as long as you have and MMA longer than you have so you can quit thinking your special in that regard. And pull your tongue out of his asshole while you’re at it, superfan. The guy was a criminal before he started fighting so it’s not terribly surprising he’s still a criminal. Do you spend a lot of time defending people that get in car chases with the police and hit multiple cars in the process? Or do just have a crush on Rampage?

I don’t think I’m “special”, but I have the feeling you are.
I love keyboard warriors, who think using foul language online makes them seem tough.
He was a “criminal” before this? That’s news to me. What’d he do?
I don’t have a “crush” on Rampage, but seeing the way you think, your probably a homophobe and a racist. I just hope that’s not the reason you have such a hard on for Rampage, because he’s black!

Wow, that’s really too bad. The UFC should definitely hold off and wait on any sort of Rampage fight until the trial and any sort of time he has to face. If you think the layoff from his last fight hurt him, this time is going to be a lot longer.
