Enoch Wilson extended his Sportfight featherweight title reign with a fourth-round knockout of World Extreme Cagefighting veteran Mike Joy last night at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon.

The first half of the fight was spent primarily on the ground. Joy executed multiple submission attempts during the first round but was then fighting off Wilson’s ground and pound attack during the second. After a pair of stuffed takedowns allowed Wilson to keep the fight on the feet in the third, it became visibly apparent that the champion’s striking was superior to his opponent’s.

Wilson caught Joy a number of times before finally putting him down for good with a hard right knee with less than 30 seconds past in the fourth and ultimately final round. Joy, who able to maintain consciousness, laid stunned on the canvas while Wilson celebrated another successful title defense.

A number of advertised bouts did not take place. Cam Ward was replaced by fellow lightweight Tommy Truex, who fell to Dave Jansen in the first round of their bout. Professional skateboarder Jason Ellis’ professional mixed martial arts debut was put on hold as he did not compete at the event.
