What’s Going On With St. Pierre’s Elbow? (Updated)

UFC 100 participants Georges St. Pierre, Jon Fitch, Mark Coleman, and Jon Jones recently took part in an open workout at the Mandalay Bay. Tracy Lee was on hand shooting the action and took some interesting shots of UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre. Take a look at St. Pierre’s right elbow in the photo above…
Update: St. Pierre’s elbow was in the same state leading up to his fight with B.J. Penn at UFC 94. If you watched UFC Primetime you’ll what looks to be the same thing.

Some ice. A bit of massage. No big deal here. I’d get it looked at afterward for sure though. I don’t see this slowing him down any.

It looks like an olecranon bursitis. Nothing major unless it gets infected and even then it’s no big deal. Normally you can drain it but why take the chance this close to the fight.
