The Ultimate Fighting Championship has announced the signing of former NCAA Champion and four-time All-American Brock Lesnar (1-0).
“I don’t think there are any other pro wrestlers that can make the transition to MMA, except for Brock Lesnar,” said White. “And if you look at his amateur wrestling credentials, his size, and what he’s done, this guy can end up being a force in the heavyweight division of the UFC.”
“If you want to go with the NFL of the fighting game, it’s the UFC, and it was an easy choice for me,” said Lesnar. “Obviously I don’t think I’m ready for a title shot right away, but I will be there, and I’m not gonna turn down any opponent because I’m here to prove myself. I’m not here to pick and choose my fights. I’ll fight whomever they want. I don’t make the fights; that’s not my job. I’ve got one job to do and that’s to fight.”
Lesnar made his mixed martial arts debut in June at K-1 Hero’s Dynamite!! USA defeating Min Soo Kim early in the first round of their heavyweight tilt. According to the article, the deal and opponent for Lesnar’s UFC debut will be announced in the near future.

I never thought I’d say this phrase, but I agree with puke. I know I’ve commented on this already, but it really annoys me. I used to follow wrastlin during Lesnar’s time in the WWE. He’s huge, strong, and agile. He’s an NCAA amateur wresttling champ. He almost made it onto an NFL roster with no previous football experience. But at this point, that’s all he is. A guy with a lot of potential and great wrestling. Plus, I’m not sure his heart is in this. He said all the right things to Rogan (looked like he thought he was cutting a wrestling promo). But I heard him on Sherdog a while back and he was an ignorant, foolish, dildo. He had no respect or knowledge of the game, and was calling out Couture. Unless he’s a very fast learner or possesses natural knockout ability, he is a huge project that will take years to reach his potential.

Brock would punish Randy. He is just to big and strong. If you have a background like him you just have to learn to cover and punch. He will be at the top in no time.

I’m confident he will do well, but I’m not sure he’ll be on top “in no time.” He has a long way to go. He is gifted though, so that helps quite a bit.
I think the reason they are promoting him so much is because he has a lot more cross over name recognition in the US than a lot of fighters.

I don’t know why the UFC was getting so worked up about signing Lesnar. It’s not like the guy is an MMA superstar or something. He’s basically done nothing outside of being in the WWE for a while.
