UFC Fight Night 15 Live Results

We will be going live at 5:30 PM ET with live results of tonight’s UFC Fight Night 15 event, which takes place at the Omaha Civic Auditorium in Omaha, Nebraska. The broadcast of the show’s main card starts at 8 PM ET on Spike TV and will be followed by the eighth season premiere of “The Ultimate Fighter”.

The event is headlined by Nate Diaz taking on Josh Neer. Mac Danzig will face fan-favorite Clay Guida in the co-main event. Additional featured bouts include Nebraska native Houston Alexander against Eric Schafer and Alan Belcher meeting Ed Herman.

Dan Miller vs. Rob Kimmons

Round 1: Miller and Kimmons exchange on the feet to start the night off. They clinch and Kimmons shoots in for a takedown. Miller moves away and quickly takes Kimmons’ back. Kimmons stands up but Miller is still able to lock-in a rear naked choke. Kimmons falls to the mat while tapping out. The end of the fight comes at the 1:27 mark of the first round.

Winner: Dan Miller - Submission (Rear Naked Choke)

Drew McFedries vs. Mike Massenzio

Round 1: After a brief feeling-out process, McFedries loads up with a big right hand and misses, allowing Massenzio to take him down. McFedries pulls guard. Massenzio swiftly moves to side control but McFedries is able to get him back into guard. McFedries postures up for a triangle but Massenzio slips out of it and moves to the north-south position. Massenzio then steps over McFedries and cranks a kimura that quickly forces him to tap. The stoppage comes at the 1:28 mark of round one.

Winner: Mike Massenzio - Submission (Kimura)

Jason Brilz vs. Brad Morris

Round 1: Brilz slams Morris to the canvas to start the fight. Brilz passes Morris’ guard and lands in side control. He slide Morris up against the fence and throws some punches. Morris rolls to his back and Brilz works for a choke from behind. Morris defends well and eventually Brilz just opts to pound away at Morris while still having his back. Morris scrambles and Brilz mounts him before switching to side control. Brilz pounds away with elbows before going for a keylock, which Morris gets out of. Morris gives up his back in the process and Brilz tries for an armbar as time expires. MMA on Tap scores the round 10-9 Brilz.

Round 2: Morris cracks Brilz with a combination early. Another right lands for Morris and he shoots in for a takedown, only to be put on his back by Brilz. Morris pulls guard but Brilz quickly passes into side control once again. Brilz looks for another keylock but can’t get it. Brilz lands some punches and forces Morris to give up his back. Brilz pounds away while Morris rolls to avoid the punishment. Brilz continues to score with unanswered punches while mounting Morris until the referee stops the fight at the 2:54 mark. Impressive debut for Brilz.

Winner: Jason Brilz - TKO (Strikes)

Joe Lauzon vs. Kyle Bradley

Round 1: A slow start to the fight sees each fighter measure the distance between one another. Bradley lands a stiff jab. Lauzon drops down for a heel hook but Bradley slips out. They stand back up and continue to exchange on the feet. Bradley stuns Lauzon with a right hand and puts him to a knee. Lauzon recovers and continues to throw on the feet. Lauzon lands a pair of nice combinations during the final two minutes of the round. Bradley lands a knee in the clinch but it doesn’t faze Lauzon. They exchange some more until the end of the round. MMA on Tap scores the round 10-9 for Lauzon.

Round 2: Bradley comes out with a body shot to open the round but it misses. Lauzon responds with a flurry and then takes Bradley down. Lauzon quickly mounts Bradley and Bradley gives up his back. Lauzon pounds on a defenseless Bradley and referee Josh Arney moves in to stop the fight.

Winner: Joe Lauzon - TKO (Strikes)

Wilson Gouveia vs. Ryan Jensen

Round 1: Gouveia and Jensen exchange back and forth with a mix of punches and kicks to start things off. Gouveia misses with a body kick and Jensen is able to take him down. Jensen muscles Gouveia to the cage. Gouveia slides up for an armbar but quickly transitions to a triangle. He locks it in but Jensen is able to escape. Jensen works some ground-and-pound but Gouveia pushes Jensen off of him after he attempts to posture up. They scramble and Gouveia ends up mounting Jensen. However Jensen sweeps Gouveia and ends up on top of him just before the round ends. MMA on Tap scores the round 10-9 Jensen.

Round 2: After a brief show of respect to start the fight, the two go right back to exchanging on the feet. Both seem fatigued. Jensen lands a jab and then a low kick that inadvertently hits Gouveia’s groin. The fight is stopped to allow Gouveia to recover and then restarted. Another exchange on the feet sees Jensen lands a combination and then shoot in for another takedown. Jensen works some more ground-and-pound but Gouveia catches him in an armbar. Jensen taps at the 2:04 mark of round two.

Winner: Wilson Gouveia - Submission (Armbar)

Alessio Sakara vs. Joe Vedepo

Round 1: Sakara comes out of the gate throwing high kicks that just miss the head of Vedepo. They circle some more and Vedepo shoots in for a takedown but Sakara stuffs it. Vedepo cracks Sakara with two rights while he is standing back up. Sakara shoves him away and then lands a high kick that puts Vedepo to sleep. Sakara pounces and lands another right hand before referee Yves Lavigne can step in and stop the fight. The knockout comes at 1:27 of the opening stanza.

Winner: Alessio Sakara - KO (Strikes)

Houston Alexander vs. Eric Schafer

Round 1:  Schafer shoots in for a takedown early and Alexander blasts him with two huge knees. Schafer goes for a heel hook but Alexander slides out. Alexander pounds away in guard until he decides to stand up. Schafer tries a couple more takedowns but fails. They clinch for a while and separate. Schafer finally scores a takedown and passes to side control. Alexander sweeps but gets caught in a guillotine. He gets out of that but is mounted by Schafer. Alexander taking some punishment. Schafer still pounding away but Alexander avoids many of the blows. Schafer then catches Alexander in an arm-triangle and forces him to tap. The submission comes at 4:53 of the first.

Winner: Eric Schafer - Submission (Arm-Triangle)

Alan Belcher vs. Ed Herman

Round 1: Belcher scores with a right hook to start things off. They clinch and exchange knees. Both going forward with the jab. Belcher lands a hard straight left and follows up with another jab and a leg kick. They clinch against the cage before separating. Belcher lands a combination and Herman responds with a right hand. Belcher stuffs a Herman takedown attempt. Herman pushes Belcher up against the cage and then finally gets Belcher on the ground. Herman works for a D’Arce choke but Belcher is able to stand up. Herman takes Belcher down again and works for the D’Arce choke until the end of the round. MMA on Tap scores the round 10-9 Herman.

Round 2: Both land with strikes early. Belcher rocks Herman with a left hook. Herman counters with a left-right combo. Herman lands an elbow inside. Belcher throws two body shots and then cracks Herman with a right. Both continue to land. Belcher lands another hard leg kick. Herman catches a kick and takes Belcher down. Herman stands up for a moment and then lands in Belcher’s half-guard. Belcher stands and Herman lands two knees. Belcher just misses with a Superman punch and they swing away until the end of the round. MMA on Tap scores the round 10-9 Belcher.

Round 3: Belcher lands another right to start the round. Belcher picking Herman apart with the jab. Herman lands a jumping right. Herman backs Belcher into the corner but his takedown attempt is stuffed. They clinch but are separated by referee Dan Miragliotta. Belcher tags Herman with a straight right. Herman finally scores another takedown. Herman works some ground-and-pound but Belcher is able to stand. Belcher misses with a head kick. Herman slams Belcher down again and pins him against the cage. Herman punches away until the end of the round. MMA on Tap scores the round 10-9 Herman and the fight 29-28 Herman. The judges disagree and award the fight to Belcher. (29-28, 29-28, 28-29)

Mac Danzig vs. Clay Guida

Round 1: Danzig flurries to start things off. Danzig lands a high kick. Guida shoots in for a takedown but Danzig stuffs it. Danzig lands a jab. Danzig rushes Guida with a flurry and Guida responds with a swift takedown. Danzig tries a kimura but lets it go. Danzig stands up but Guida slams him down again. Danzig stands up against and drops down with a guillotine on Guida but lets go. Danzig works for an omoplata but Guida defends. Guida works for a takedown up against the cage until the round ends. MMA on Tap scores the round 10-9 Guida.

Round 2: They exchange to start the round. Danzig scores with a high front kick and Guida chases him down with punches. Guida takes Danzig down but Danzig stands up. They go back and forth with jabs. Danzig avoids a flurry from Guida. Guida takes Danzig down once again but Danzig is still able to stand up. Danzig lands a jab. Guida gets Danzig down again during an exchange. Danzig stands and they each land a jab. Danzig backs Guida up with a right. Guida stuffs a Danzig takedown attempt. Guida takes Danzig’s back and suplexs him. Guida rolls Danzig and tworks for a rear naked choke. Danzig escapes and holds on until the end of the round. MMA on Tap scores the round 10-9 Guida.

Round 3: Danzig misses with a standing axe kick and Guida pins him up against the cage during the opening seconds. Danzig works for a guillotine up against the cage. Danzig scores with consecutive leg kicks and then takes Guida down. Danzig rolls for a kimura but Guida gets out of it. Guida takes Danzig’s back and then tries for a takedown. Guida takes Herman’s back again. Danzig is exhausted. They stand but Guida takes Danzig down. Danzig works for a guillotine but lets go and drops down for a kimura. Guida pounds away until the end of the round. MMA on Tap scores the round 10-9 Guida and the fight 30-27 Guida. The judges agree on the winner.

Winner: Clay Guida - Unanimous Decision

Nate Diaz vs. Josh Neer

Round 1: Neer scores with a leg kick and a combination to start the fight. Neer takes Diaz down and quickly works for a D’Arce choke. Diaz defends well and gets out of the hold. Diaz works for a guillotine on the ground before standing up. Neer takes his back and works for a rear naked choke but Diaz is able to escape after attempting a standing kimura. They break away from each other and exchange on the feet, each landing their fair share of strikes. Diaz executes a judo throw and slams Neer to the mat. Diaz lands in side control and Neer looks for a heel hook. Diaz escapes and then Neer tries a kneebar. Diaz steps over and takes Neer’s back. Neer rolls and Diaz mounts him just before the end of the round. MMA on Tap scores the round 10-9 Diaz.

Round 2: Diaz quickly takes Neer to the ground to start the second round. Diaz tries a kneebar of his own but Neer escapes. Neer stands and takes Diaz’s back and works for a rear naked choke. He nearly gets it but Diaz is able to roll out of it and pull guard. Diaz looks for a triangle but Neer shakes it off. Neer stands up and lands an axe kick to Diaz’s stomach before diving back down to Diaz’s guard and landing some elbows and punches. Diaz sweeps Neer only to have his back taken again. Diaz bucks Neer off of him and they stand, exchanging on the feet until the end of the round. MMA on Tap scores the round 10-9 Neer.

Round 3: Diaz flurries and then tries for a takedown to start the final round. Neer stuffs it and tries to muscle Diaz to the ground but ends up on his back. Neer gets to his feet only to be taken down again. Diaz lands some punches and Neer rolls to his back. Diaz takes it but Neer quickly scrambles and pulls guard. Diaz mounts Neer but another scramble sees the two stand up. Diaz takes Neer down again but is eventually swept. Neer takes Diaz’s back yet again but Diaz is able to shake him off. They exchange on the feet until the final seconds of the round, where Diaz scores one last takedown. MMA on Tap scores the round 10-9 Diaz and the fight 29-28 Diaz. The judges give Diaz a split decision win. (30-27, 29-28, 28-29)
