It seems that professional wrestling and mixed martial arts are getting even closer here in the United States…
The UFC has come to terms on a deal with TNA that will have the wrestling promotion promote UFC 81: Breaking Point during the next couple of weeks leading up to the event according to Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer:
Details aren’t known, but it is expected there will be heavy advertising of the next UFC during the TNA shows over the next two weeks. In addition, during the body of the shows will be hype packages to build up the match. Next week’s Impact will include a Brock Lesnar training package, as well as a Kurt Angle interview, where he breaks down the Lesnar vs. Mir match.
Anyone who watched last night’s TNA Global Impact with Kurt Angle wrestling Yugi Nagata at the New Japan Pro Wrestling Tokyo Dome show earlier this month, (which was a solid match by the way) may have noticed multiple mentions of Brock Lesnar on last night’s telecast. Lesnar participated in last year’s show but TNA play-by-play announcer Mike Tenay also mentioned that Lesnar had signed with the UFC during the broadcast.
