just watched the silva fight and am i the only one who feels he has already retired?? he was doing his best roy jones jr. wanna-be dancing with the stars b.s. and threw very few combo’s.
I guess whenever somebody starts to talk about retiring they must of lost an edge mentally already…. and it showed last night.

Wow you guys can’t be serious. Leha you actually think Cote won the 2 rounds. I don’t think Cote hit Silva more than twice the entire fight. Craig you talk about Silva doing a wanna be Jones Jr well that is called giving the fans their moneys worth. If Silva were to go in there and knock Cote out like he did The Sandman there would be a lot of pissed off people in the crowd. Now mind you there was but at least it wasnt Silva’s fault.
Anderson was having his way with Cote the whole time, doing what he wanted with him with the stand up knowing that there was no threat of a takedown. If he were to be fighting a wrestler my guess would be that he would get down to business faster.
Anderson’s skills are so far ahead of everyone including Cote that he can afford to dance around and put on a show without putting himself in any danger. If Cote is so good then why didnt he mount any sort of offence, why didnt he land those big shots, why didnt he counter Silvas strikes.
Cote didnt bring Silva into the 3rd. Silva brought himself because he wanted to.
Well Silva haters, next time make comments that make sense. Speak with your head not with your heart.

love people who toss around the “hater” word, it’s called an opinion chief!
You really think Silva would chance(extending the fight by not giving a 100%) getting clipped by a lucky punch for the sake of the fans??? And do really belive the fans want to see him not try 100%?? ahhh gee that is great of him. we should all thank Spider and DRINK THE KOOL AID WITH YOU.

and btw, silva is miles ahead of everybody and WE KNOW IT. Try not stating the obvious.. we were talking about last night’s effort… well at least I was,..............>>>
not sure What FIght Leha watched.

Im not a silva hater, and I never expected Cote to win but after Silvas antics in the ring I then choice to root for Cote. Silva had a few hits he actually got on Cote one being a knee. Cote was the one pushing the fight. Silva was out of his normal routine and I thought it was great. Im ready for him to be gone….Time for someone new. Don’t get me wrong Silvas a great fighter (the best as they say), but just lost respect for him after all the dancing around the ring. This isnt WWE this is MMA.

Not sure what fight Leha watched either, you forgot to mention the full-force shin kick that sliced open Cote’s brow…as for Craig, the dancing around is called mind games/positioning setup/keeping your opponent from being able to setup and then jump in like a demon-possessed and land the afforementioned shin-kick and knee, which to Cote’s credit, he did not crumple from.
Did any of you watch Silva’s training regime?
As for the retirement talk, it could be a ruse to lure the UFC into throwing a load of money to him to extend his contract.

I totally agree with Jason M from Chicago.
But I’d like to add that the fight was disappointing including Silva’s game plan and Cote’s knee injury.
Also, there’s so many fighters are much cockier than Silva, and I don’t think Silva was being that cocky, i thought he’s at his game regardless the audience liked it or not.

Mack i agree, foot work and set up is key..
he did not jump like a demon-possessed or half possessed. he did land those few, over 2 rounds, shots but did not stay on Cote’.
he did say he was setting it up for a 4th or 5th round knock out so i guess if it went that far nobody would be upset.
But it sounds like Silva has heard the backlash is ready to jump back in the ring as fast as possible. And i look forward to that.

I first want to commend Cote on a great fight. I understand and ended early, but Cote won those first two rounds. I hope he challenges Silva again cause I think he could be the one to dethrone him. I also was unimpressed with the cockiness that Silva displayed in the ring. For someone that talks about how appreciative he is to fight in the UFC and blah blah blah but then dances around the ring in disrespect to Cote I am not routing for Cote to win next time they meet up. It was unfortunate that Cote went down cause I think he had Silva. It was a great strategy and he executed it perfectly. He had Silva out of his game plan. I am now a Cote fan for sure.
