I didn’t think I cared too much, but it was nice to see Forrest take the long fight.

No way that fight was a unanimous victory for Forrest. Split decision victory would have been remotely plausible but no way did I watch a unanimous victory last night.

It’s hard to say - the 2nd round could have been 10-8 as Griffin technically dropped Rampage with leg kicks and got the mount and was attempting submissions the entire round - Griffin also threw a lot more strikes overall and pressed the fight, he never let Rampage get inside, except for once where he ate the uppercut

w3stcoast - agreed. but i’d still give the victory to griffin as a split decision.

Yeah overall forest was way more active while rampape seemed a little scared to get inside. But i was also drunk wathcing the fight at humperdinks!! Never seen so many forest fans yell in a restraunt.

lol@humperdinks, just sounds funny.

but seriously not sure how u could see taht fight as a split, the judges actually got it right.... at least in my eyes.

if u use the 10 point round system, forrest won 3 and rampage 2.. clearly.  so a split would of been a joke.  in a room of 15 guys, not one person thought rampage won,.........

not even the guy who had to pay 20 bucks smile

also, was it just me or was rampage on some kind of downers?  he acted like he wanted forrest to have the title.

Also Rampage just tried to load up on one punch, a very skilless game plan… while forrest showed actual MMA skills.  who would of thought when forrest won tuf that anybody could say skill and defense when talking about forrest.  Kudos to Opie for working harder than his opposition.

Let me start by saying I could have cared less who won this fight, but I think the fighter who comes to fight and do the most damage should win

the way you all are judging this fight is also how the judges obviously saw it.

the problem with this, is its going to take mma in the same direction as boxing, which creates boring fights.

the judges are hired by the las vegas athletic commission, and they are by no means experts, but understandably help keep fraud at bay.

Lets go with facts, any of you see forest’s face after the fight.  I dont know where you all grew up, but where ever I’ve been one man’s face is beat to a pulp and the other guy looks like he just got ready to go out to dinner....that would be a clear answer to who won the FIGHT, not the karate match.

I did not see Forest PRACTICALLY drop quinton, but I did definitely see Quinton drop Forest with a clear chin shot, the only round I could see going 10-8

Yes, forest had one good round when he got quinton in the guillotine and forced him to fall down by throwing those knees and then mounting him....but as you could see by quinton’s face after the match Forest did no damage.

You all say quinton was afraid to go inside, but he went inside and landed and every time forest wanted nothing to do with the exchanges and if you watch the fight again you’ll see forest pushing away and backing off every time because of the pain quinton was giving with his punching power.

I saw one man try to win being defensive and playing it as safe as possible and I saw another guy lose when he went in there and other than the last half of the 5th which quinton also played safe came to fight and beat somebody up and I feel he did just about as good as he could going against somebody that just wants to throw some super safe leg kicks and pray for a judges decision

I want to see the fighters fight not play karate

I am very happy for Forrest but I personally know what kind of guy he is and seriously doubt he proud of that win or thinks he was the overwhelming winner

but its not pride fighting, its a career and moneys money

After seeing this fight, I honestly have a hard time seeing forest ever end a fight with quinton without the judges help.....

on the other hand I think well see a quick rematch and I think quinton is going to go for broke and I dont think the next ones going to make it to the judges, but if it does some how I think quinton knows he cant leave even a single doubt in there political minds!

Its not all about the face after the fight dude.. ANd leg kicks will make you sit for a month. Its not about who has a bruised eye.. its about who outlasts AND WELL WINS.. And if you notcied rampages leg buckled when forest kept throwing those leg kicks. and you could also hear it from a mile away. Maybe you should stick to watchong elite xc.. The sport is about constentsy. Not hitting the guy once ever round and praying to god you knock him out.. DO SOMETHING!!! JESUS ALthough i do realize they both played it safe the whole fight. But all in all forest did more.

YOU should go back and watch the fight. because Forest landed some good leg kicks, but where your getting this quinton got buckled by one I dont know

your right though if this sport goes in the direction you want to take it, trust me I wont be watching it

I just dont understand why they call it the Ulitimate FIGHTING Championship

You should start a new sport called the ultimate defense championship

dude, white guys bleed and lump up...lol… plus forrest has a ton of scar tissue from when u used to just slug it out lime an scrub.  therefore he bleeds very easy and looks horrible after a fight wether he wins or takes a loss.

JoshMo, you obv do CAre who won or lost LMAO it’s faming obv!!

first off JoshMo, for your 10-8 round… this is not boxing where a knock down is makes it a 10-8 round… it’s what u do after u knock him down, which rampage did little.. not even close to warrant a 10-8 round.  1 punch where u do not capitalize is just one punch.

the rest i might comment on later....

The only thing i care about is seeing Good Fights, where the better man win’s

-like quinton says in the post fight interview, you should have to BEAT the CHAMP.

funny how even forest has a more reasonable opinion about the fight then you all.

I guarantee he could read everything I wrote and would never call me an idiot, because he has class.

and there are a lot of people who share my view of how the fight went, look around the web at some of the actual other fighters and expert opinions.

what is really funny is that Rampage agrees with most people here except you, esp about getting beat and the leg kicks.

all u had to do is look at Rampage’s eyes after the fight to KNOW who won.

two points off to have fun tonight;
1. forrest has very low self opinion and always talks like that, it’s also called humble.

2. did U say u want to see good fights where the better man wins, ?? wow way to be different.  that concept is soooo new and fresh, wow… i wish somebody would of thought about that before.. here we want to see bad fights where a guy who only puches 5 times wins… sigh we are soo lost.  to hell with complete fighters, i want the one puch pony.

What are you talking about

1. rampage has been arguing the decision since the fight stopped.

2. I said the same thing rampage said griffin landed some good leg kicks.........

you just love to argue or you would get your facts straight

After last night, the UFC is becoming boxing politics and money. (read between the lines folks) Anyone of you who has been watching UFC for along time can clearly see this event was coordianted to revolve around TUFF and it didnt fail. The TUFF hype soap opera tale show was in full force last nite, from the biased commentating to the cinderella story that was “forest the first TUFF winner to now new lightweight champ” give me a break!! yes, rampage didnt BRING IT, but to say he lost unanimious???? come on guys!!! forest won round 2 but to say he was connecting more then page on the other rounds is CRAP! its really dissapointing to see how its becoming this way. Some of you will say the opposite, but when boxing was becoming more apparent that shady match fixing was going on, EVERYBODY said NO WAY….well look at boxing now!!!!! So lets continue this soap opera with forest vs lidell NYE…hmmm nobody saw that coming! now dana gets his perfect NYE show w lidell vs forest and silva vs rampage III

I LEAVE YOU W THIS: If it happened once already with the HAMILL vs BISPING fight, what makes you think its impossible for FIXED shit to happen again???? and please dont tell me bisping won the fight LOL…

25. AdaMBomB
Jul 07, 2008 6:29 AM

Bisping isnt that good in my eyes.. Neither is hammill. Neither one will last in the ufc. Hammill should have won that fight though. Your right..

26. AdaMBomB

Besides we wont see rampage back for a rematch till liddell fights forest. You know thats who is up next for the title shot.

for u to compare this fight to hammil bisping is really pushing the conspiracy thing too far.  hammil fought, he brought it… rampage DID NOT!

this fight wasn’t even that close, it’s a joke for u post your garbage conspiracy crap.

it was a great fight, rampage lost, get over it.

ALL U HAVE TO DO IS LOOK IN THE EYES AFTER THE FIGHT, PERIOD, RAMPAGE WAS BROKEN MENTALLY… HE TALKED ALL THE TRASH HOW IT WOULDN’T GO TO THE JUDGES,

WELL IT DID RAMPAGE.... HEY HERE’S A THOUGHT!!!! LEARN SOME SKILL, LEARN HOW TO CUT OFF THE RING AND BE AGGRESIVE.  NOT EVERYBODY IS CABBAGE HEAD AND WILL STAND DIRECTLY INFRONT OF A FIGHTER, MOST HAVE SKILL AND WILL MOVE.

TOO BAD RAMPAGE IS GONNA WORKED OVER AGAIN BY SILVA… FOR A THIRD TIME!!

I hope Dana White but Justin McCully back in the ring, Gonzaga got a lucky kick in which is the only reason he was able to take Justin down, Dana needs to put his personal feeling aside and consider what the fans want, and we want to see Justin McCully fight Mir, o thats right his Dana friend so maybe thats to tuff of a fight for Mir, so maybe Lisner? Dana please make the fight we want to see and stop being so money hungry, give the fans what the want and you will remain king of mma

I saw this fight as an extremely close one…
One thing I’m surprised about is that not many if anybody has mentioned that the fight could have been a draw…
I saw the first round as close, with Rampage securing it at the end with the knock-down 10-9

2nd round, all Forrest, completely dominant. Even if he didn’t do much on the ground, he out-struck Rampage with the leg kicks, took him down, mounted him and all the while was busy with elbows and submission attempts. No real aggression (return strikes or attempts to sweep or hip escape) by Rampage, and he even said in his post-fight interview that he just laid there and let his leg recover. Clear cut 10-8 round.

3rd and 4th rounds I thought were rather slow, but with Rampage clearly winning 10-9.

5th round was won by Forrest 10-9

Makes it 47-47 in my book.

The funny thing is that all your B*tching and complaining wont change who won the fight and that you guys would even waste you time arguing over it. I would rather see a knock out in the end but that can’t always happen when you have 2 skilled fighters and it could have went either way but it didn’t so get over it,
