I think this was the best fight card I’ve seen so far this year. Plenty of very relevant fights, one title fight, lots of action in every fight, lots of hype and drama, and good knockouts and submissions.

They showed 4 undercard fights (9 fights in all).

Interestingly, I think the runner up for best card this year is UFC 80, which was also headlined by BJ Penn.

Great fights all around.  Some of the KO’s were brutal.  I was surprised how many fights the UFC showed last night.  Maybe they will now have less commercials and more action.  About friggin time.

Everyone’s got it right, the UFC put together a great card this time. I’ve got to take a second and give props to Sherk, a guy who I never gave the full respect he deserves(I hate steroids maybe he did, maybe he didn’t, it’s the past now). Anyone willing to go toe to toe with BJ has heart by the ton. Not to mention, he’s a wrestler who was holding his own in there. Much respect Shawn. Tito looked bad, even worse in the post fight interview. The old Ortiz would have taken that guy down without a struggle. Sucks to be the Dean of Mean. He beats Chuck and instead of getting a title shot, they give him Vanderlei, while Griffin gets the shot, the same griffin who Jardine handled. Now he’s back to square 1. Wow. Only thing that pissed me off was seeing all of those stars in attendance, driving up the cost of admission, while people like me who have followed since UFC 1 can only dream of attending an actual event. The PPV’s are just as much as boxing nowadays. At least the sport is flourishing.

Machida should have to fight Wanderlei next as punishment for fighting such a boring style.

Machida was methodical and didn’t play into Tito’s game. The result was Tito’s face getting banged up. That’s certainly not running away in my books. Ask Kalib Starnes about that.

Excellent fights.Sorry Keith Jardine that should have been Griffin getting KO there.Jardine is one of the top fighters out there. He has proven that. Why is Griffin getting a title shot? They should rematch regardless so Jardine could beat him up again.Forget about who is more marketable.Lets make sure we remember who the better fighters are!! Griffin is good to!!I would like to see him ask to fight Jardine either way.He has something to prove there.
