The first preliminary fight of the night is going to be Akihiro Gono making his UFC debut against Tamdan McCrory. Gono’s entrance should be sick…

Akihiro Gono vs Tamdan McCrory

Round 1: McCrory scores early and often in the first couple of minutes in the first round as Gono has a lot of trouble adjusting to McCrory’s tremendous reach advantage. McCrory took advantage of better strength in the clinch as well as he landed a number of knees that hurt Gono. Gono tried to create distance with low kicks but after not being able to find anything on the feet, took the fight to the ground with a takedown. Gono worked his way to side control but didn’t work very much until the end of the round.

Round 2: McCrory again spends the beginning part of the round on the feet and landing strikes at will. Gono starts to throw combinations and then lands a left hook that drops McCrory. Gono pounced on McCrory and McCrory quickly attempts an armbar. Gono works his way out of it and achieves mount. Gono then rolls into an armbar that forces McCrory to tap out.

Winner: Akihiro Gono - Submission (Armbar)

The second preliminary fight of the evening will feature Marcus Aurelio trying to bounce back from an upset loss against Clay Guida at UFC 74 when he takes on Luke Caudillo.

Marcus Aurelio vs Luke Caudillo

Round 1: They trade on the feet for the first minute or so, each landing their fair share of shots. Aurelio sweeps Caudillo to the mat but they quickly end up back on the feet. They trade again before clinching. Aurelio takes Caudillo down once again. Aurelio quickly took side control and then mounted Caudillo. Aurelio worked some ground and pound before trapping one of Caudillo’s arms in a crucifix of sorts. Aurelio continues to pound away at Caudillo with unanswered shots until the referee stepped in and stopped the bout.

Winner: Marcus Aurelio - TKO (Strikes)

Time for the third preliminary bout of the night and it should be a good one. Internet phenom Joe Lauzon going up against the man who holds the best record numbers-wise in MMA right now, Jason Reinhardt.

Joe Lauzon vs Jason Reinhardt

Round 1: Reinhardt comes out throwing bombs to start the fight. They all miss for the most part and Lauzon goes for the clinch. Lauzon takes Reinhardt down and quickly moves to North-South position. Lauzon pounds on Reinhardt with short but effective shots. Reinhardt turns to his back to try and avoid the punishment and Lauzon jumps right on it. Lauzon sinks in the rear naked choke and Reinhardt is forced to tap out.

Winner: Joe Lauzon - Submission (Rear Naked Choke)

Here comes the final preliminary fight of the night. Up and coming welterweight Thiago Alves clashes with popular veteran Chris Lytle.

Chris Lytle vs Thiago Alves

Round 1: Exciting first round that took place on the feet. Lytle came out strong for the start of the fight and started to tee off on Alves. Alves put Lytle on the seat of his pants with a right hand but Lytle quickly returned to his feet. They trade back and forth, each landing shots. Alves attempts a body kick that Lytle catches. Lytle then follows up with a left that knocks Alves down. Alves gets back up and Lytle wins the battle on the feet until the end of the round. Lytle has a cut over his left eye.

Round 2: Another back and forth round. Lytle continues his success on the feet until Alves starts unleashing some hard leg kicks. Lytle can’t set anything up without catching a leg kick. They eventually start to take a toll on Lytle and he slows down. They continue to exchange on the feet and Alves also continues with his leg kicks. Lytle hurts Alves with a front kick at one point but Alves recovers and finishes the round strong. Lytle is bleeding pretty bad.

During the break in between rounds the ringside doctor examines Lytle’s cut and waves off the bout, deciding that the cut is too severe for Lytle to continue. The crowd lets their frustrations be known as do both fighters.

Winner: Thiago Alves - TKO (Cut)

First up is a lightweight bout featuring top contend Spencer Fisher and hometown hero Frankie Edgar.

Spencer Fisher vs. Frankie Edgar

Edgar makes his way out first sprinting down the runway to the octagon.

Out next is Spencer “The King” Fisher walking to God’s Gonna Cut You Down by Johnny Cash.

Round 1: The first round begins with Edgar pushing forward. Fisher throws a few jabs early but Edgar quickly shoots in and puts Fisher on his back. Edgar immediately looks for a guillotine but to no avail. After a short stint on the ground Fisher makes his way back to his feet. He throws a jab followed by a knee and this Edgar puts him back onto the canvas. Edgar trying to ground and pound from Fisher’s guard but nothing effective landing. Fisher continuing to avoid any damage. Edgar passes to half guard but Fisher quickly regains guard. Good flurry by Edgar from the top. Three good rights from the top. Fisher gets back to his feet. Fisher attempts to fire off a head kick but he slips and Edgar pounces jumping into Fisher’s guard. Elbows from the bottom by Fisher. Edgar postures up and rains down some good ground and pound. Edgar passes to half guard and lands some good right elbows. The round ends with Edgar on top.

Round 2: Fisher comes out with a right early and then tries a knee and as he does Edgar takes him down. Edgar quickly passes to half guard. Fisher regains guard and closes it up. Edgar postures up and passes to side control. Fisher is able to stand back up. Fisher tries a big left but Edgar shoots off of it. Fisher stuffs the initial takedown attempt but Edgar quickly shoots again and puts him down. Edgar moves to side control but Fisher regains guard. Edgar postures up and moves to side control. Fisher gets back to half guard and Edgar begins to land some lefts from the top opening a cut up over Fisher’s eye. Fisher tries to push off and get back to his feet but Edgar is relentless keeping Fisher on the canvas. Edgar postures up and tries to land some shots. Working from side control Fisher gives up his back. He is able to spin over and regain guard as the round ends.

Round 3: Fisher comes out with a fancy kick but again he is put on his back. Edgar passes to side control and lands some shots. Edgar takes Fisher’s back and sinks in both of the hooks. Fisher gets out and returns to his feet. Good combo by Edgar followed by a shot that Fisher has no answer for. Two good rights from Edgar. Fisher gets back up to his feet but he is pinned against the fence. They separate and move to the middle. Immediately Edgar shoots in and Fisher works to stuff it but he has no answer. Very little action as they lay on the canvas. Fisher attempts a triangle but Edgar shrugs it off. Fisher tries to stand but Edgar drags him down. Hammerfists from the top. Edgar postures up and passes to side control. Edgar ends the round with a few rights.

Winner: Frankie Edgar - Decision (Unanimous)

Next up is a rematch between former TUF contestant Ed “Short Fuse” Herman and last minute replacement Joe “El Dirte” Doerksen.

Ed Herman vs. Joe Doerksen

El Dirte is the first to come out looking extremely pumped up as he walks with Monte Cox.

Herman is the polar opposite as he walks out looking extremely calm and composed.

Round 1: The fight begins with a glove touch. Doerksen comes out swinging landing a jab followed by a kick. Doerksen continues to come forward with punches then goes for the takedown. Herman stuffs it as they clinch. Knee to the body from Herman followed by a trip. Herman passes to half guard. Doerksen scrambles and returns to his feet. They are separated after a stall in the clinch. They begin to exchange, good elbow and knee from Herman. Doerksen tries taking Herman down but Herman does an excellent job of sprawling. Doerksen is cut under the eye. Good elbows from Herman. Doerksen scrambles and gets to his feet but quickly goes down. Herman in side control and then the mount. Doerksen quickly gets back to guard. Good elbow from Herman. Short elbows from Herman. The left eye of Doerksen beginning to swell. More good shots from Herman as the round ends.

Round 2: Herman starts the round off with some wild shots that misses. Doerksen lands a low kick followed by a jab. They clinch and Herman scores the body lock takedown. Good left elbow from Herman. Herman passes to half guard. They ref steps in and stands them up. Good knee from Doerksen. Both fighters miss with wild shots. Herman tries a trip and Doerksen reverses it and takes Herman’s back. Herman standing with Doerksen on his back. Herman goes to his knees and then Doerksen pulls him back and looks for the choke. Herman transitions to Doerksen’s back but Doerksen gets otu and then goes for Herman’s leg. Good lefts from Herman as he has back position. Knee to the body from Herman. Doerksen rolls back to guard. Good elbow from Herman. Doerksen ends the round with a beautiful triangle/armbar but doesn’t have enough time as the round ends.

Round 3: The round begins with a glove touch. Jab from Herman, low kick from Doerksen. Wild elbow from Herman misses. Both fighters misses with shots and then Herman lands a huge bomb that puts Doerksen on the canvas. Herman follows it up with two good shots before the referee steps in and calls a halt to the bout.

Winner: Ed Herman - KO (Punch)

Up next is a welterweight clash featuring “The Heat” Karo Parisyan stepping into the cage with PRIDE veteran Ryo Chonan.

Karo Parisyan vs. Ryo Chonan

Round 1: Low kick early from Chonan. Good low kick from Chonan but Parisyan answers with a right and then secures the takedown. Parisyan works from the top landing the odd shot. The ref has seen enough and decides to stand them up. They clinch along the cage and Karo secures a big takedown. Parisyan pins Chonan against the cage and tosses a few elbows. Good punches by Karo but Chonan pushes off and returns to his feet. They clinch and then separate. Right misses from Chonan. Chonan attempts a leg kick and Parisyan catches it and puts him on his back. Two good rights from Karo. Chonan tries rolling for an armbar but fails. The return to the feet and clinch. The round ends in the clinch.

Round 2: Good low kick early from Parisyan. Parisyan charges in and gains the clinch. They separate with punches. Good low kick from Chonan. Knee to the body by Chonan and then they clinch. They separate moments later and Chonan lands a big right. Chonan fires off a big kick that Parisyan looks to catch. Parisyan secures the body lock but Chonan fights it off. Good punch from Parisyan as they separate. Good jab from Parisyan. Knee to the body from Chonan. Chonan attempts a low kick which Parisyan catches and puts him to the canvas. Chonan scrambles and grabs a hold of Parisyan’s leg. They clinch along the cage. Good knee to the body from Chonan but Parisyan quickly answers with a takedown. Working from half guard, Parisyan scores a right elbow. More right elbows from Parisyan as he works from half guard.

Round 3: Chonan comes out with a jab to start the round and Parisyan throws a low kick that catches Chonan below the belt. They stall for a bit but then the fight is restarted. They clinch along the cage and exchange knees. The crowd boos so the referee separates them. Karo misses with a wild left and Chonan answers with two rights. Karo ducks for a double but Chonan stuffs is. Karo is able to secure a trip. He begins to fire away with the right from half guard.  Karo secures the mount but Chonan quickly reverses him and gets top position. They scramble and return to the feet. Left hook from Chonan. Good knee to the body from Chonan. Both fighters exchange jabs. They clinch and Chonan lands a knee. Chonan attempts a spinning backfist that misses. Jabs from Karo. Pace beginning to slow. Spinning backfist from Parisyan. They clinch and Karo attempts to secure a trip. He is unsuccessful but he lands a good elbow as they separate. They clinch for a moment and then separate. The fight ends and the crowd boos.

Next up is a light heavyweight bout featuring Houston Alexander and Thiago Silva.

Houston Alexander vs. Thiago Silva

Round 1: The fight begins with a glove touch. Alexander immediately moves forward and gains the clinch. Knee to the body from Silva. The referee separates them. Big shot from Alexander. Low kick from Silva. Two hard shots from Alexander miss. They clinch along the cage. Huge takedown from Alexander. Silva reverses it and gains top position. Silva immediately gains the mount. Silva postures up and throws a left. Good shots from Silva. Elbows from Silva. Alexander holding on tight. Crowd chanting “Houston! Houston!” Hard punches from the top by Silva as he flurries. Another hard flurry from Silva on the top and the referee steps in and calls a halt to the bout.

Winner: Thiago Silva - TKO (Strikes)

Main event time folks! Battle of The Ultimate Fighter champs, Rashad Evans vs. Michael Bisping.

Rashad Evans vs. Michael Bisping

Round 1: The fight begins with a big right hand from Evans. Rashad immediately shoots in and pins Bisping against the cage. Evans switches levels and puts Bisping on the canvas. Bisping stands back up as they clinch along the cage. Two rights from Rashad followed by a shot. The referee steps in and separates them. Rashad charges in with a wild combo and then gains the clinch. Crowd beginning to boo. Bisping lands a knee. Rashad separates and throws a three shot combo. Bisping attempts a kick and as he does Rashad shoots in and puts Bisping on the canvas. Evans postures up and throws a right and then passes to side control. Bisping scrambles and makes his way back up to his feet. Bisping utilizes the Thai clinch to land a knee and an uppercut. Rashad answers with a punch and then puts Bisping on his back. Bisping keeps looking for a sweep but Evans pins him and stuffs the efforts. Bisping regains full guard as the round ends.

Round 2: The second begins with Bisping charging forward with a kick that misses. Rashad attempts a big right that misses as Bisping lands a leg kick. Rashad then shoots in, picks Bisping up and slams him to the canvas. Little action as Rashad sits in Bisping’s guard. Evans trying to posture up and rain down shots. The referee steps in and stands them up. Evans misses with a right. Bisping utilizing the jab. Good two shot combo from Bisping. Evans answers with a good right. High kick from Bisping blocked. Good left right combo from Rashad. Bisping answers. Evans attempts a shot but it’s stuffed. Right leg kick from Bisping. Good left hook by Rashad followed by a right. Good knee to the body from Bisping. Rashad charges in looking for a takedown. They clinch along the cage. Right uppercut from Bisping. Hard right from Evans. Bisping answers with a very hard left. Knee to the body from Bisping followed by a takedown at the bell.

Round 3: Rashad starts the third with a good left hook. Bisping coming forward with strikes. Bisping attempts a kick and Rashad shoots off of it securing a takedown. Bisping trying to use the cage to return to his feet. He reverses Rashad and puts him on his back. He has Rashad’s back standing and tries to drag him down but fails. They separate and move to the middle. Wild combo from Rashad misses. Good left jab from Rashad. Hard left from Evans. Evans moves forward with a good right followed by a shot. Evans puts Bisping on his back. Bisping rolls Rashad and they scramble to the feet. They clinch and then separate. Body kick from Bisping. Hard right hand from Rashad. Two shot combo from Bisping. Evans shoots but it’s stuffed. Both fighters missing. Uppercut from Bisping followed by a knee. Rashad shoots in as the round ends.

Very close fight with the final two rounds being very tough to call.
