Rising heavyweight prospect Chris Tuchscherer garnered his third straight victory in as many fights, swiftly earning a first-round stoppage of Jamie Klair less than two minutes into their featured attraction at Sovereign Nations MMA “Extreme Beatdown” on Saturday night.

After a brief exchange on the feet, Tuchscherer (17-1), who had the services of UFC heavyweight champion and training partner Brock Lesnar in his corner, quickly brought Klair (7-1) down to the mat and proceeded to unleash a barrage of unanswered shots that forced the referee to wave off the bout. The loss was the first of Klair’s professional career.

The win is the third for Tuchscherer after he suffered his only career loss to date at the hands of experienced veteran Travis Wiuff at YAMMA Pit Fighting’s infamous one-night heavyweight tournament back in April of last year.

Also victorious on the card were UFC and WEC veteran Jesse Forbes (9-3), who scored a first-round TKO of Shane Dezee (8-5) and former female boxing champion Elena “Baby Doll” Reid (3-0), winner of a two-round stand-up war against Michelle “The Karate Hottie” Waterson (7-3).

Former Arizona high school wrestler Jamie Schmidt captured the inaugural SNMMA featherweight title, submitting Yaotzin Meza in the opening round of their bout. Schmidt (8-2), now fighting out of Denver, went right to the ground and locked Meza (11-5), another former Arizona high school wrestler, into a bone-crunching arm bar just prior to the two-minute mark of their 145 lb matchup.

“Jamie is a very good fighter,” SNMMA president Pat Packineau said in a press release sent out to the media. “He trained very hard for this fight. He’s a master technician who stuck to his game plan and dominated a very good opponent. We’re very pleased he won the SNMMA title and I’m looking for big things from him.”

Despite an 84 lb weight disadvantage, late replacement Beau Tribolet (2-1) also won the first SNMMA super heavyweight title, using a rear naked choke to submit 335 lb New Zealand-native and Xtreme Couture member Brice Ritani-Coe (2-1).
