Fight Entertainment Group has announced three more bouts for DREAM.6, which will take place on September 23 at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan.

The most high profile fight made official today was a previously rumored bout between former PRIDE standout Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic and reigning Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem.

Overeem has long believed that Filipovic had been ducking a potential showdown with him for years. However will now get his wish against a fellow dangerous kickboxer.

Filipovic left the Ultimate Fighting Championship following a disappointing 1-2 stint in the organization, where he was defeated by Gabriel Gonzaga and Cheick Kongo in consecutive fights. He bounced back to earn a first-round TKO of Tatsuya Mizuno at DREAM.1 in March.

After losing five times over the past two years, Overeem has won his last three fights. After defeating Paul Buentello and winning the vacant Strikeforce heavyweight title last November, Overeem recently went on to score a knockout of Tae Hyun Lee at DREAM.4 and then a submission of Mark Hunt at DREAM.5.

Also announced today was a heavyweight bout between Sergei Kharitonov and popular K-1 kickboxer Siala “Mighty Mo” Siliga. The fight will be Kharitonov’s first since he scored a TKO win over Overeem at a K-1 Hero’s show in September of last year.

Siliga remains undefeated thus far in professional mixed martial arts. He last scored a first-round TKO of journeyman Ruben Villareal at K-1 Dynamite!! USA 2007 in June of last year. Prior to that, he scored consecutive knockouts of Min Soo Kim and Mark Smith respectively.

DREAM.6 will feature the final round of the promotion’s inaugural grand prix. Melvin Manhoef will take on Gegard Mousasi and Zelg Galesic will face Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza with the two winners meeting in the show’s main event.

Announced today, judo expert Dong Sik Yoon will take on karate stylist Andrews Nakahara in the middleweight grand prix reserve bout.

Additional fights expected to take place at the event include a featherweight meeting between Hideo Tokoro and Atushi Yamamoto as well as the first-ever DREAM welterweight title bout between Hayato “Mach” Sakurai and Nick Diaz. Jason “Mayhem” Miller, Yoshihiro Akiyama, and Ikuhisa Minowa are all also advertised as competing at the event.
