Here is the latest that we could find out concerning the death of Ryan Gracie. Bleacher Report seems to have the best recap of things around.
Gracie was arrested around 1:30 AM last Saturday for allegedly stealing a car and crashing the vehicle. Gracie then reportedly attempted to steal a motorcycle when he was attacked by the owner of the bike after threatening to take his life. Police eventually arrived and Gracie was taken to jail.
Once Gracie arrived at the facility he was apparently extremely uncooperative and a doctor was called in to administer the injection of drugs to suppress Gracie. The physician, Dr. Sabino Ferreira de Faria stated that he gave Gracie the following drugs: Haldol, Fenergan, Topamax, Dienpax, and OmniPlex.
The autopsy revealed that Gracie also had marijuana, cocaine, and an anti-depressant in his system. The doctor stayed with Gracie in his cell until mid-morning. Gracie was found motionless in his cell and pronounced dead by prison officials around 7 AM.
An official cause of death has not yet been determined.
Now I’m no doctor but I’m just going to take a wild guess that with that mix of substances in his system, Gracie most likely died from cardiac arrest.
I’m hoping to have a look back at Ryan Gracie’s career posted later this week…
