— Cub Swanson has reportedly suffered an undisclosed injury in training and has been forced to withdrawal from his upcoming UFC on Versus 3 featherweight bout against Erik Koch. The nature and estimated recovery time for Swanson's injury remain unknown. The UFC is said to be actively searching for a last-minute replacement opponent for Koch. []

— Bellator is expected to kick off the first round of its latest featherweight tournament on March 19 at the Lucky Star Casino in Concho, OK. Opening-round matchups could include Georgi Karakhanyan vs. Patricio "Pitbull" Friere, Wilson Reis vs. Zac George, Kenny Foster vs. Eric Larkin and Nazareno Malegarie vs. Daniel Straus. []

— After parting ways with Bellator over a contract dispute, color commentator Jimmy Smith is reportedly set to return to the promotion for its upcoming fourth season after all. Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney and company have apparently reached an agreement on a three-year deal with Smith, who will join play-by-play man Sean Wheelock for Bellator's next event on March 5. []

— Highly regarded Brazilian light heavyweight Glover Teixeira is slated to headline Shooto Brazil 22 on April 1 against undefeated prospect Guto Inocente in a matchup of the country's top 205 lb fighters. Teixeira is currently riding a nine-fight win streak that includes win over Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou and Jorge Oliveira, while Inocente has been victorious in each of his first five pro fights. []
