Former UFC middleweight contender David Terrell has suffered yet another career-plaguing injury and has been forced to pull out of his scheduled bout against Ed Herman at next month’s UFC 78.
Terrell tore multiple ligaments in his ankle during a recent training session according to his manager Tom Call:
“He tore a couple of ligaments,” said Call. “It was confirmed (Friday) by an MRI. He is obviously disappointed. Dave’s really been looking forward to returning to the UFC.”
Terrell will be replaced by veteran Joe Doerksen. Doerksen was defeated for the WEC Middleweight Title in his last fight against Paulo Filho. Filho stopped Doerksen with strikes in the first round of their bout.
