The official weigh-in results for tomorrow night’s Elite Xtreme Combat and Strikeforce co-promoted “Shamrock vs Cung Le” show are below. All fighters successfully made weight.
Former UFC middleweight champion Frank Shamrock and undefeated former kickboxer Cung Le will meet in an anticipated middleweight clash that will headline the event. Gilbert Melendez, Drew Fickett, Mike Kyle, and Joey Villasenor will all also be in action against separate opponents.
There were a few hitches in this afternoon’s weigh-ins. Shamrock weighed-in at 186 lbs on his first try. His second showed 185.25. Minutes later, Shamrock finally made the 185 lb limit required of fighters fighting for a title under the California State Athletic Commission.
Drew Fickett had a difficult time making the 172 lb limit, eventually draining himself down to 171 lbs. It was also thought that Luke Stewart would be without an opponent after Tiki Ghosn failed to show-up for the weigh-ins on time. He arrived after they were finished and easily made weight. Jesse Gillespie completely failed to make weight for his 175 lb bout.
