Matt Lindland’s Sportfight promotion will put on it’s latest show tonight at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon where reigning Sportfight featherweight champion Enoch Wilson will defend his title against lightweight convert Mike Joy in the night’s main event.
“We’re going to give the crowd the action-packed lightweights, but we’re also going to have some of the big boys going at it too,” Lindland said in a press release sent out to the media. “This fight card has a little bit of everything.”
Wilson, who originally earned his Sportfight belt after submitting Team Quest member Ian Loveland in April 2006, has struggled as of late, losing three out of his last six bouts. Wilson last competed under the Sportfight banner last May, where he lost a unanimous decision to Travis Bush.
Joy made his Sportfight debut in December, winning a decision over IFO champion Zach George. Joy’s experience may become a factor going into this bout - The WEC veteran has faced the likes of UFC veteran Doug Evans and WEC lightweight title contender Richard Crunkilton during the course of his career.
Lightweights Cam Ward and Dave Jansen will square off in the co-main event. Professional skateboarder Jason Ellis will also be making his pro mixed martial arts debut.
The event will be televised on HDNet starting at 7:30 PM ET
