Strikeforce has officially announced that K-1 legend Ray “Sugarfoot” Sefo will make his Strikeforce debut at Strikeforce: Challengers against UFC veteran Kevin “The Shaman” Jordan. Strikeforce: Challengers is scheduled for September 25 at the SpiritBank Event Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Sefo, a native of New Zealand, relocated to Las Vegas in 2007 to train with former UFC heavyweight champion Randy “The Natural” Couture at Xtreme Couture. Sefo holds K-1 victories over notable names including Peter Aerts, Jerome LeBanner, and Mike Bernardo.
Sefo made his mixed martial arts debut in July 2005 when he scored a second round head kick knockout over Min Soo Kim at K-1 Hero’s 2.
Jordan, a native of Columbus, Ohio, possesses a mixed martial arts record 11-7. Jordan holds victories over the likes of Pat Smith, Kerry Schall, Carlos Moreno, and Chris Herring. Jordan has also battled the likes of Paul Buentello, Gabriel Gonzaga, Travis Wiuff, and Wesley “Cabbage” Correira, though in a losing effort.
Strikeforce: Challengers will be headlined by a middleweight bout featuring Tim Kennedy taking on undefeated prospect Zak Cummings.
