Score Fighting Series 7 Live Results

MMA on Tap will be going live at 7:30 PM ET with real-time results of tonight’s Score Fighting Series 7 event, which takes place in Hamilton, Ontario.

SFS 7 will be headlined by a welterweight showdown between Jordan Mein and Forrest Petz. Also featured will be a featherweight affair featuring Tristan Johnson and Will Romero. The card will air live on The Score in Canada and AXS TV in the States.

Paul Jalbert vs. Oliver Vadnais

Round 1: Jalbert starts off with a front kick to the midsection. Vadnais answers with a right. Moments later Vadnais comes in with a quick combo and pins Jalbert against the cage. Both guys exchange a few knees in the clinch. After battling against the cage, Vadnais drops for a double but Jalbert stuffs the attempt. Both guys exchange a few short punches before Vadnais drops for a single. Again Jalbert stuffs the shot as he’s pinned against the cage. Vadnais creates separation and lands a few hard elbows before securing a solid double leg. On the canvas Vadnais lands a solid knee followed by a few punches. Jalbert makes his way back to his feet and attempts a takedown of his own. Vadnais reverses it and ends up in half guard. Vadnais attempts to pass but Jalbert brings him back to the full guard. Operating from the rubber guard, Jalbert keeps Vadnais locked up as the round comes to a close.

Round 2: Jalbert opens the second round with a few kicks while avoiding Vadnais’ punches. Vadnais continues to move forward with overhand rights that miss before he shoots in for a double. Jalbert does a solid job stuffing the takedown before landing a nice knee and putting Vadnais against the cage. Blood starting to leak from the nose of Vadnais. Both fighters keep tight for the next minute or so as they battle for position. Jalbert starts to push the action throwing a few knees and punches while in the clinch. Vadnais eventually reverses Jalbert and holds him on the cage as they continue to exchange short knees. Vadnais lands a nice short elbow followed by a right before the round ends.

Round 3: Jalbert opens the third round with a solid front kick. Vadnais answers with a two punch combo followed by an overhand right that lands. Vadnais then pushes Jalbert up against the cage as the two combatants exchange positions for the next minute. Vadnais lands a short elbow before Jalbert spins him and pins him on the cage. Vadnais drops down for a single but Jalbert stuffs it. Vadnais throws a short right elbow and punch. Jalbert then puts Vadnais against the cage and drops of a double but Vadnais stuffs it. They return to the clinch and Jalbert lands two solid knees to the head. Jalbert then trips Vadnais and puts him on the canvas. Immediately Vadnais throws his legs up for an armbar but Jalbert avoids it and lands a few punches. They return to the feet momentarily before Jalbert takes Vadnais’ back and secures a body triangle. A few short punches from Jalbert as he works for back position.

Rory McDonell vs. Desmond Green

Round 1: 
The fight begins with a glove touch. McDonell starts early with a right. He follows that up with a left and right low kick. McDonell follows that up with a right low kick that catches Green low. The referee calls timeout as Green takes time to recover. After a short break the action resumes and McDonell comes forward twice with two punch combos ending with a kick but neither looking to land. McDonell pushing forward with punches as Green feels the distance. They clinch against the cage and exchange knees. Green working with double underhooks. Good knees to the body and thighs from Green. Green throws McDonell to the canvas but doesn’t follow him down. They return to the center of the cage as McDonell works his jab. Green answers with a few punches before McDonell comes forward with a combo. Green takes McDonell down and immediately McDonell rolls for an armbar. With the armbar applied, Green lifts McDonell and slams him to the canvas. Green pins McDonell against the cage and works from the full guard. McDonell rolls and throws an omaplata up but quickly switches to a gogoplata. Green tries to scramble to but it’s too late and he’s forced to tap.

Adam Assenza vs. Tommy Cote

Round 1: 
The fighters spend the first 30 seconds feeling each other out before Cote shoots in for a takedown. Assenza stuffs it and eats an uppercut but quickly responds with a flurry of decent punches. Assenza then puts Cote on the canvas and lands a few punches before taking Cote’s back. Cote scrambles and returns to top position. Assenza tries to wall talk but Cote puts him back on the canvas and lands a few punches. They exchange some shots on the ground before returning to the feet. Cote lands a single but on the way down Assenza reverses him and gets top position. Cote being active from the bottom trying to attack Assenza’s arm. Assenza passes during an armbar attempt and rains down a few shots. Assenza pins Cote against the cage and throws a few left elbows. Assenza continues to find a home for the right elbow as he lands 5-6. Assenza posturing up and throwing a few more elbows as Cote spins for an armbar again. Assenza avoids the submission and regains top control.

Round 2: 
Assenza opens the second with a spinning backfist that grazes the head of Cote. Cote answers shortly after with a knee to the midsection. Good kick to the body from Cote. Assenza moves forward with a combo but Cote answers with two good punches followed by a knee. Assenza tries a spinning wheel kick but misses. Both fighters then stand in the pocket and throw a few punches before Assenza takes Cote to the canvas. Again Cote starts looking for the armbar. Smartly Assenza postures up and rains down a barrage of solid rights. Cote trying to scramble but Assenza doing a solid job keeping control and landing punches. Assenza moves to the half guard and lands a few hammerfists. Assenza goes for an arm triangle but gives it up and takes mount. Cote quickly reserves Assenza but moments later ends up on his back. Assenza throws a few more rights before the round ends.

Round 3: 
Cote lands a nice body kick early and follows it with a combo that misses. Cote moving forward with a side kick. Good right hand from Cote. Both fighters exchange a few punches with Assenza coming out with the takedown. Immediately Cote grabs on to a kimura but is unsuccessful. They momentarily return to the feet and Assenza gets back position, takes Cote to the ground and locks on a body triangle. Working from Cote’s back, Assenza rains down a few punches before cranking on Cote’s neck. Cote escapes and returns to full guard. A few good shots from Cote on the bottom. Assenza trying to posture up but each time Cote locks him up neutralizing the threat of punches. Assenza stalling in top position as Cote fires off punches from his back. Assenza moves to half guard but continues to stall. After the 10 second marker sounds, both fighters throw a few shots before the round ends.

Elias Theodorou vs. Ali Mokdad

Round 1: 
Theodorou starts the action with an outside leg kick. Theodorou bouncing on his feet as Mokdad walks forward. Good outside leg kick from Theodorou. Theodorou moves in with a right hand and attempts a knee but misses. Mokdad initiates the clinch and both fighters land rights before separating. They clinch again and Mokdad pins Theodorou against the cage. Theodorou quickly reserves Mokdad and then shoots in and successfully lands a double. Theodorou trying to posture up but he’s unable as Mokdad locks up his guard. Theodorou lands a solid right elbow. Short punches from Theodorou as he postures up. Theodorou avoids the upkick and then quickly passes to side control. Mokdad tries to scramble but ends up with Theodorou on his back. With both hooks in, Theodorou softens Mokdad up with some punches. Mokdad gets to his feet and successfully shakes Theodorou off his back. They end the round throwing a few punches that don’t land.

Round 2: 
The second stanza starts with a respectful glove touch. Theodorou moves in with a jab. Theodorou then throws a nice leg kick followed by a high kick that misses. Theodorou again lands the right leg kick followed by a punch that comes up short. Mokdad fires off a right but Theodorou ducks under it and pushes Mokdad against the cage. They don’t stay on the cage long as Theodorou escapes Mokdad’s grip and returns to the center. Both guys miss a few shots and return to the clinch. After exchanging a few short shots they separate and return to the middle of the cage. Theodorou throws a left and then takes Mokdad to the canvas. From top position, Theodorou throws some shots to the body. Short punches from Theodorou. Mokdad answers with a couple of back fists. Theodorou continues to throw rights as he opens a small cut on Mokdad’s nose. Theodorou posturing up as he throws to the body and head. Theodorou continues trying to land while posturing up but Mokdad does a solid job covering up as the round comes to an end.

Mokdad starts the round with a jab, Theodorou answers with a leg kick. Attempted high kick, followed by a front kick, low kick and then another high kick before Theodorou takes Mokdad to the floor. Theodorou working the body of Mokdad. Theodorou continues to try posturing up but Mokdad doing a solid job tying him up. Theodorou fires off a few good rights. Solid right elbow from Theodorou followed by a few punches that miss the mark. Mokdad scrambles and they momentarily get to the few before Theodorou shoots in and secures a power double. Three good rights from Theodorou followed by a few shots to the body. Mokdad tries jumping onto a guillotine but Theodorou slips his head free. Theodorou postures up and lands three decent rights. Theodorou steps out of Mokdad’s guard but before Mokdad can stand Theodorou jumps into Mokdad’s guard and throws a flurry of punches before the round ends.

Ryan Dickson vs. Brandt Dewsbery

Round 1: 
The fight begins with a glove touch. Dewsbery comes out with a two punch combo followed by a front kick. Dickson catches the kick and Dewsbery is able to fire off a few punches before being taken down. Dickson lands in side control and then moves to north south. Dewsbery scrambles but Dickson maintains top control and moves to mount. Dickson rains down some punches forcing Dewsbery to give up his back. Dickson continues to land punches as Dewsbery rolls back to mount and then half guard. Dickson quickly advances position and gets on Dewsbery’s back. They transition from back to mount as Dickson lands a few punches. Dewsbery gives up his back again and Dickson flattens him out and lands some punches. Dewsbery tries shaking Dickson off but to no avail. Dickson continues to dig for the choke and looks to have the arm under the neck as the round ends.

Round 2: 
Both fighters exchange jabs to open the second. Dickson follows that up with a right and Dewsbery responds with a knee that misses. They then clinch along the cage. Dewsbery lands a few knees before attempting a throw that backfires as he ends up on his back. Dewsbery throws his legs up for a sweep but Dickson quickly passes to the half guard. Moments later squeaks his leg up and ends up in mount. Dewsbery throws his legs up and scrambles gaining top control and then Dickson’s back. Dewsbery fires off a few shots to the head of Dickson before he’s then reserved and Dickson ends up on Dewsbery’s back with a body triangle. They continue to battle for position before Dickson slips his hand under the neck of Dewsbery and locks in the rear naked choke. Dewsbery tries to fight it off but it’s all over, Dewsbery is forced to tap.

Jason Saggo vs. Iraj Hadin

Round 1: 
The fight begins with a glove touch. Saggo comes out with a front kick that misses. Both guys exchange low kicks and then Saggo fires off a high kick that misses. Hadin lands a left jab followed by a hook that misses. Hadin moves forward and pins Saggo against the cage. Hadin lands a nice knee to the body before Saggo spins Hadin and pins him on the cage. Saggo drops for a single and moments later puts Hadin on the canvas. Hadin tries scrambling and ends up with Saggo latched on his back. Saggo trying to work with only one hook in. Saggo sinks in both hooks before moving to the mount. Again Hadin gives up his back. Hadin does an excellent job shaking Saggo off and gaining top position. During the scramble Saggo grabs onto Hadin’s leg and reverses him ending up on Hadin’s back. Saggo locks on the body triangle and lands two punches before the round ends.

Round 2: 
Hadin comes out with a solid leg kick followed by a high kick that is blocked. Another nice leg kick from Hadin followed by a kick that is checked. They clinch and Hadin grabs ahold of a single but Saggo fights if off and attempts a single of his own. While defending, Hadin momentarily gives up his back. They scramble and again end up in the clinch along the cage. They separate and Saggo misses with a right. Hadin quickly answers with a combo as Saggo backs away. Hadin then lands a good two punch combo but Saggo then shoots and puts Hadin on the canvas and quickly takes his back. A cut forming under the right eye of Hadin. Saggo slips the arm under the neck of Hadin and he’s forced to tap out.

Alex Ricci vs. Kevin Morin

Round 1: Morin comes out with a quick combo that doesn’t see anything significant land. Morin quickly takes Ricci down. Ricci using an active guard as he throws his legs up for a triangle. Morin quickly escapes and drags Ricci back to the canvas as he tries to wall walk. Morin lands a few rights as Ricci continues to try to get back to his feet. Ricci finally gets up and lands a knee followed by a right. Morin moves forward with a jab followed by an uppercut that miss. Ricci eats a jab and the fires back with a leg kick. Morin moves forward with a combo and again digs in and secures a double. Immediately Ricci works to get back to his feet. Morin looking for a D’Arce. They return to the feet and exchange a few knees. Elbows from Morin. Good knees and elbows from Ricci as they battle in the clinch. Another solid elbow from Ricci as they separate. Morin lands a right as the round ends. Morin covered in blood after eating a few well placed elbows.

Ricci with a leg kick and Morin answers with a spinning backfist that is blocked. Ricci ends the round with a solid right-left combo.

Both fighters exchange jabs and kicks to start the third. Ricci lands a good right and then Morin attempts a takedown that is stuffed. They clinch along the cage and Morin begins working for the takedown. Ricci stuffs it and lands a few knees on a bend over Morin. Knees to the thigh from Ricci. They separate and exchange good rights. Ricci with a knee followed by a stiff jab. Ricci then shoots in and Morin stuffs it. Ricci continues to work for the takedown before separating and throwing a right. Morin then shoots for a takedown and gets Ricci on his knees against the cage. Morin continuing to try to finish the takedown but Ricci is able to get up and land a few knees. Elbows to the head from Ricci. Two good elbows from Ricci as they clinch. Morin answers with a few tight rights. Good short right from Ricci. Ricci teeing off with the right elbow as he continues to batter the eye of Morin. With ten seconds left Morin tries a takedown so Ricci immediately pulls to a triangle as the round ends.

Good left uppercut from Ronson. Good straight left followed by a hook from Ronson. Healy tries to answer but eats a few more shots in the process. Healy tries to shoot in but Ronson stuffs the attempt and tries taking Healy’s back. Healy escapes the position and eventually gets Ronson down. They stand back up. Head kick followed by a liver kick from Ronson. Healy shoots in and Ronson immediately fends it off with a kimura attempt. Petz comes out pawing with his left. Both fighters miss with a few big punches. Petz winding up on the left. Good combo to the body from Mein followed by a knee and another body shot. Mein with an elbow followed by a flurry of lefts. Petz is rock and drops to the canvas. Mein swarms him and continues to attack. Petz momentarily gets back to his feet but it doesn’t last long as Mein unloads with punches and elbows putting Petz away early in the first.
