Hide your beanies and shirts. After stepping away from active competition for the last sixteen months, “Ultimate Fighter” season one alumnus Sam Hoger will return to action at World Championship Fighting’s next scheduled show on September 19th in Wilmington, Massachusetts.
The organization announced Hoger’s participation in a press release to the media to the today. He will take on Reality Fighting and Extreme Challenge veteran Braden Bice in the show’s main event.
“I can’t wait to get back in the ring,” Hoger in the press release. “It’s been a long time so I just want to get back out there and show everyone what I can do. I’m excited about fighting for World Championship Fighting. They’re one of the biggest shows on the East Coast. I’m not looking past my opponent, but I plan on making big waves in the MMA world again and this will be my first step.”
Hoger was cast as one of the original sixteen cast members featured in the first season of Spike TV’s “The Ultimate Fighter”. He was defeated in the semifinals of the show by eventual winner Forrest Griffin. After officially entering the UFC, Hoger racked up a record of 2-3, defeating Bobby Southworth and Jeff Newton while dropping decisions to Stephan Bonnar, Rashad Evans, and Lyoto Machida.
