Former EliteXC middleweight champion Murilo “Ninja” Rua will likely be competing on the promotion’s next scheduled event to be televised on CBS, which will take place on October 4th at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida.
A source close to Rua has told MMANews.com that while there is still a possibility he could fight on EliteXC’s September 20th event on Showtime, it’s more likely now that he will be back in action at the October event instead and his camp is now waiting for confirmation to make his return date official.
Rua last fought at EliteXC’s “Return of the King” event in June, earning a first-round TKO win over Australia native Tony Bonello, who had racked up a 16-0-1 record overseas and in smaller midwest-based shows before suffering his first career loss against “Ninja”
Rua, a former Chute Boxe product, now joins EliteXC heavyweight sensation Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson and female star Gina Carano as the group of fighters expected to be featured via the October show’s televised main card on CBS.
