Rock the Vote: Liddell or Shogun?

Much is being made about the fact that the light heavyweight clash between former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell and PRIDE Fighting Championships standout Mauricio “Shogun” Rua is essentially a “do-or-die” fight for both involved.

Liddell can’t afford to lose for the fourth time in five fights if he wants to continue fighting at the level he wants to and another loss for “Shogun” inside the UFC would continue to fuel rumors regarding his downfall since the demise of PRIDE.

Thus, this weekend’s co-main event for UFC 97 is being anticipated by many. Who do you think will win? Will Liddell be able to revive his storied career after Saturday night or will Rua continue his rise back to prominence with a win against a fellow former light heavyweight king?

Let’s not forget about the way that Chuck has looked in his past few fights as well. It’s going to be an interesting fight. Both guys have gone out of their way to go back to the drawing board and try to better themselves in hopes of resurrecting their respective careers. My pick at the moment is Chuck, but I’m still waiting for the real Shogun to come alive at anytime now.

Chuck is Shogun’s B I T C H! Great round until the end. Shogun had very good footwork and while Chuck did swing a lot, he looked like a lumbering bear plodding around the ringlike that. He’s over. How many times does a guy have to throw the SAME overhand punch before you take notice and look/defend against it.
