Longtime Japanese veteran Caol Uno is reportedly set to return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship after a five-year absence from the organization that he called home from 2001-2003.
According to MMA Junkie, Uno has verbally agreed to face Miletich Fighting Systems product Spencer Fisher at UFC 99, which is slated to take place on June 13 in Cologne, Germany. While bout agreements have yet to be signed, they are expected to be finalized shortly.
After his release from the UFC years ago, Uno went on to win ten of his sixteen bouts within the Shooto, K-1, and DREAM promotions. He most recently dropped a hard-fought unanimous decision to Shinya Aoki in the DREAM lightweight grand prix semifinals this past July.
Fisher last competed at UFC 90 in October, where he submitted Shannon Gugerty with a triangle choke in the third round of their fight. Prior to that, Fisher started his quest back to the top of the lightweight division with a unanimous decision win over Jeremy Stephens at The Ultimate Fighter 7 Finale.
