Philadelphia resident and featherweight prospect Wilson Reis will reportedly return to action against Justin Robbins on the undercard of Elite Xtreme Combat’s upcoming “Primetime” event on May 31st at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
The news comes from Five Ounces of Pain, which has confirmed the fight as being signed through multiple sources.
Reis was originally slated to face Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Doug Evans at a ShoXC: Elite Challenger Series event earlier this month but was not approved by the California State Athletic Commission in time to fight. He was replaced by Bao Quach who stopped Evans with strikes less than a minute into the first round.
Reis has been victorious in each of his first three professional mixed martial arts bout. He most recently submitted Zach Makovsky in January.
Robbins, a veteran of King of the Cage and World Extreme Cagefighting, will be making his EliteXC debut at the event and has won three out of his last four bouts. He bounced back from a unanimous decision loss to Antonio Banuelos last August to submit Jeff Hodges at a Warrior Concepts event in January.
Heavyweight sensation Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson is slated to headline the event against PRIDE veteran James Thompson. EliteXC middleweight champion Robbie Lawler will also put his belt on the line against Scott Smith in a bout that will likely be a sure-fire war on the feet.
