Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, the younger brother of current UFC heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, will reportedly be in action at Affliction Clothing’s upcoming “Banned” show on July 19th at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
The news comes from Five Ounces of Pain, which learned of Nogueira’s participation while talking with Affliction officials after the popular California-based clothing company’s press conference held today in New York City.
The promotion announced the signing of Nogueira, a longtime veteran of PRIDE Fighting Championships, at a press conference Tuesday in Los Angeles.
Nogueira has split his last four bouts, most recently earning a second-round TKO of Todd Gouwenberg at Hardcore Championship Fighting’s “Destiny” event in February. He was last in the spotlight courtesy of Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou last February, becoming the first victim of two epic knockout upsets by the Team Quest product in 2007.
An opponent for Nogueira has not yet been determined. His fight is expected to be part of the pay-per-view telecast.
The show will be headlined by a heavyweight showdown years in the making as former PRIDE heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko will take on former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia.
