A light heavyweight bout between former NCAA wrestling champion Mark Munoz and Palace Fighting Championship veteran Ricardo Barros has reportedly been signed to take place at WEC 37 on December 5 in Las Vegas according to MMA Weekly.
Munoz, a heralded wrestler out of Oklahoma State University, remains undefeated thus far in his professional career. He was victorious in his WEC debut back in June, scoring a first-round stoppage of Chuck Grigsby. Munoz was scheduled to take on Steve Steinbeiss prior to the postponement of WEC 36 but was forced off the card with a knee injury. According to the article, he has signed a contract to fight in the UFC, win or lose, starting next year.
Barros has competed sparingly throughout his MMA career, only fighting three times in the last eight years. His most recent bout took place at Palace Fighting Championships 6 in January, where he scored a first-round submission of Eric Pribble. Barros is a BJJ black belt under Ralph Gracie.
