Marvin Eastman will finally make his debut at middleweight in the UFC when he faces off against Terry Martin at UFC 81 in February according to a report from MMA Mania.
Eastman has fought twice in 2007. His last fight was an unanimous decision over Rob Kimmons to win the IFO Light Heavyweight Title at Steele Cage’s inaugural event in July. Eastman’s last fight in the UFC was a knockout loss to Quinton “Rampage” Jackson at UFC 67 in February. He was originally scheduled to compete for the first time at 185 lbs against Demian Maia at UFC 77 but was forced to pull out of the fight after doctors ordered him to undergo eye surgery on a degenerative vision problem.
Martin is coming off of a third round knockout loss to Chris Leben in a fight that he nearly won but ended up getting caught during the final minutes. Martin was victorious in his first two fights at middleweight earlier this year, stopping Jorge Rivera and Ivan Salaverry with strikes at UFC 67 and UFC 71 respectively.
