Nate Marquardt and Thales Leites will reportedly attempt to fight again in June when the Ultimate Fighting Championship travels overseas to London, England for UFC 85.
UFC 85 will feature a light heavyweight contenders match between former champion Chuck Liddell and “Ultimate Fighter” season two winner Rashad Evans. Heavyweight standouts Fabricio Werdum and Brandon Vera will also clash.
Marquardt and Leites were originally slated to meet in a middleweight bout at UFC 81: Breaking Point. However Leites was forced to pull out of the bout after suffering a broken hand during training and was required to undergo surgery. He was replaced by Jeremy Horn, whom Marquardt submitted at the event.
The win over Horn was Marquardt’s first fight since he was stopped by current champion Anderson Silva last summer. It was Marquardt’s first defeat in close to three years.
After dropping a unanimous decision to Martin Kampmann in his UFC debut, Leites has gone on to win three consecutive fights, the most recent a submission win over journeyman Ryan Jensen last August.
