Jose Landi-Jons will likely take on journeyman Brian Gassaway in a welterweight affair that will as the main event of the upcoming TKO 32: Ultimatum, which will take place at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on February 28th.
The news comes from a report by TKO Xtreme.
Landi-Jons is a true veteran of the sport to say the least. He fought for the first time in his career all the way back in 1993, where he submitted Moura Moura with strikes. Since then he has gone on to fight and defeat some of the top fighters in the sport, earning wins over the likes of Matt Hughes, Pat Miletich, and Jorge Patino to name a few.
Even though his record these days may tell a different story, Landi-Jons was considered one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in the world at one point. He was also a former key member of Chute Boxe, but ended up leaving the team after reportedly not being recognized for his training of the Rua brothers.
Gassaway started off last year on a negative note as he was submitted by John Alessio with a rear naked choke at a WEC show in January. Gassaway suffered another setback in losing a decision to Dereck Keasley but bounced back and has won two straight fights in independent shows since then.
