American Kickboxing Academy product and “Ultimate Fighter” alumnus Josh Koscheck will reportedly take on UFC newcomer Paulo Thiago when the organization travels in London, England for UFC 95 on February 21.
The news comes from a report by Tatame.com, citing Thiago’s coach with the Constrictor fight team, Ataíde Junior.
After dropping a disappointing decision to Thiago Alves at UFC 90 in October, Koscheck bounced back to score a devastating knockout of Yoshiyuki Yoshida at the UFC’s “Fight for the Troops” event on December 10.
Prior to his loss to Alves, who will now likely take on the winner of Georges St. Pierre and B.J. Penn’s welterweight showdown at the end of this month, Koscheck racked up to straight wins to put himself back into contention in the UFC’s welterweight division - an impressive stoppage of Dustin Hazelett and a brutal and bloody unanimous decision over Chris Lytle.
Thiago will come into his fight against Koscheck undefeated as a professional with a perfect record of 7-0. The Brazlian spent all of 2008 competing in the Jungle Fight promotion, where he last defeated Luis Dutra Jr. via doctor’s stoppage in the first round at Jungle Fight 11 in September.
