A middleweight bout between Rob Kimmons and IFL title holder Dan Miller will likely take place when the Ultimate Fighting Championship travels to the state of Nebraska for the first time in the promotion’s history as they hold another edition of “UFC Fight Night” at the Omaha Civic Auditorium on September 17th.
The news comes from our friends at MMA Junkie, who have confirmed the bout with sources close to Kimmons’ camp. Both fighters have reportedly agreed to fight and bout agreements have been sent out. The fight will probably take place on the un-aired preliminary portion of the event’s card.
Kimmons was victorious in his UFC debut in June, submitting Alaska Fighting Championship veteran Rob Yundt. Kimmons’ biggest win to date came last October, when he headlined an IFO show, submitting Tristan Yunker to win the now-defunct organization’s welterweight belt.
Miller recently submitted Miletich Fighting Systems product Ryan McGivern to win the IFL middleweight title at the promotion’s last show in May. Miller is currently riding a seven-fight unbeaten streak that also includes a decision over fellow rising prospect John Howard at a Ring of Combat event in Novembe of last year.
