Fresh off signing a new four-fight deal with the UFC, Martin Kampmann will make his reportedly make his welterweight debut at UFC 93 in Dublin, Ireland against UFC newcomer and Brazilian MMA veteran Alexandre Barros according to MMA Weekly’s “MMA Insider Blog”.
Kampmann, who currently trains out of Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas, recently suffered his second career loss when he was stopped by way of strikes at the hands of Nate Marquardt in the first round of their bout at UFC 88 in September. The loss snapped a nine-fight winning streak for Kampmann, who had also won his first four fights in the UFC.
Barros is a Marco Ruas-trained fighter that sports a career extending all the way back to 1999. Nicknamed “Baixinho”, he recently made a return to professional competition after a two-year hiatus. Barros last won an unanimous decision over Udi Lima at a Watch Out Combat Show in Brazil on September 25.
