Despite dropping down to the lightweight division in an attempt to extend his stay with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Jess Liaudin has reportedly been released from the organization following his recent loss to David Bielkheden at UFC 89 according to Five Ounces of Pain.
After finding moderate success in England’s Cage Rage promotion for a number of years, Liaudin came to the UFC and showed promise from the start, winning his first two UFC bouts against Dennis Siver and Anthony Torres respectively.
However the Frenchman’s winning ways soon ended, and Liaudin found himself quickly becoming a victim of a three-fight losing streak. Liaudin was brutally finished at the hands of Marcus Davis at UFC 80 in January and then lost a hard-fought split decision to Paul Taylor at UFC 85 over the summer.
Following his loss to Taylor, Liaudin opted to make the cut to 155 lbs in an attempt to rejuvenate his career, but ended up losing a decision to Bielkheden on October 18. There have been no indications regarding where Liaudin may end up next.
