MMA Junkie is reporting that lightweights Jorge Gurgel and John Halverson have agreed to a bout between each other at UFC 82 in February.
Gurgel is coming off of a disappointing loss at the hands of Alvin Robinson at UFC 77 last month. Before that Gurgel had racked up two straight decision wins over Diego Saraiva and Danny Abaddi respectively. Gurgel fell to Mark Hominick in his UFC debut at Ultimate Fight Night 5.
Halverson has not competed in the UFC since being stopped by lightweight phenom Roger Huerta in a controversial bout at UFC 67. Halverson claimed that Huerta had hit him with an illegal knee while he was down but the replay showed that Huerta had actually caught shoulder. Halverson has won three straight fights outside of the UFC since then.
