Report: Edwards to Fight Berto on Feb 16

Yves Edwards will return to action when he takes on fellow lightweight Edson Berto at Elite Xtreme Combat’s next event on February 16th at the United Bank Arena in Miami, Florida according to a report from MMA Weekly.

The fight is part of a card that also features a middleweight matchup between Scott Smith and Kyle Noke and the long-awaited showdown between internet legend Kimbo Slice and UFC veteran Tank Abbott.

Edwards was originally slated to face Kyle Bradley in the main event of the upcoming ShoXC: Elite Challenger Series event later this month but the fight ended up being scrapped and Edwards moved to the February card. No reason yet as to why the fight was canceled or if Bradley will be competing in the February event.

Since joining forces with American Top Team, Edwards has won two straight fights, submitting both Nick Gonzalez and Alonzo Martinez with a rear naked choke at EliteXC and HDNet Fights events respectively.

Update 1/10 11:30 AM: It seems that Bradley may he headed to the UFC according to Sam Caplan…
