Randy Couture Comes to DVD in August

Remember when Randy Couture traveled to South Africa last year to film The Scorpion King II? Well the movie is being released on August 19th, albeit straight to DVD.

Universal Home Video announced the news today. The movie, which is rated PG-13 and has a running time of an hour and fifty minutes, should retail for $19.98. A Blu-ray release will also be available for $39.98 according to DVDActive.com.

Couture plays the main character in the film, his first lead in a movie. Details concerning the film’s plot are quite sketchy but Couture basically kills the father and becomes the enemy of a teenage Mathayus, the character The Rock played in the first prequel.

Extras will reportedly include deleted scenes, The Making of The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior, a visual effects featurette, a gag reel, and other additional features. We’ll post further details when they become available.
