Nickels Victorious in Ring of Fire Return

Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Mike Nickels was victorious in his return to active competition Friday Night, earning a first-round submission win over Vladimir Vuckovic in the featured fight at Ring of Fire’s latest effort, which took place at the Broomfield Event Center in Colorado.

Instead of exchanging with Vuckovic, Nickels opted to shoot in for an immediate takedown right after the start of the fight. Nickels then rained down with an unanswered numbers of punches after transitioning to mount, forcing Vuckovic to roll to his back. Nickels quickly took advantage by sinking in a rear naked choke that ultimately forced the Croatian to tap out.

Former UFC lightweight Luke Caudillo fought valiantly over three rounds in an absolutely brutal stand-up war with North American Amateur Fight Series veteran Torrance Taylor before verbally submitting late in the third round due to an unusually high amount of punishment he took throughout the fight.

Noah Thomas, who was kicked off of the fifth season of “The Ultimate Fighter” after participating in a backyard brawl with fellow castmate Marlon Sims, submitted former college wrestling teammate Brett Roller in the second round of their featured bout.
