Former UFC welterweight champion Carlos “The Ronin” Newton will headline W1: High Voltage in a bout with Shonie “Mr. International” Carter in a battle for the W1 welterweight title.
The co-main event will feature a W1 bantamweight title fight between Remi “Bam Bam” Morvan and former TKO bantamweight champion Adrian “The Bully” Wooley.
Newton, a native of Newmarket, Ontario, possesses a mixed martial arts record of 14-13. Newton has fought all over the world in organizations such as PRIDE, UFC, K-1, IFL, and Shooto. Newton holds victories over notable names including Renzo Gracie, Pete Spratt, Jose Landi-Jons, and Pat Miletich.
Carter, a native of Chicago, Ilinois, possesses a decorated mixed martial arts record of 47-18-7. Carter holds victories over notable names including Matt Serra, Jason MacDonald, Chris Lytle, and Dave Menne.
Morvan, a native of Ottawa, Ontario, possesses an unblemished mixed martial arts record of 6-0. Morvan holds stoppage victories over Sean Quinn, Tommy Pariseau, Richard Ho, Ian Dawe, Jason Vautour, and Larry Sockabasin.
Wooley, a native of Toronto, Ontario, possesses a mixed martial arts record of 5-1. Wooley holds victories over the likes of Guillaume Lamarche, Syd Barnier, and Danny Martinez.
Also featured on the card will be Hosier “Le Commando” Bruno, Nabil “The Thrill” Khatib, Mark “Boots” Holst, Mustafa “Mufasa” Khalil, Mitch Gagnon and more. W1: High Voltage is scheduled for October 10 at the Robert Guertin Arena in Gatineau, Quebec.
