The California State Athletic Commision has announced that Kazuhiro Nakamura has tested positive for marijuana following the results of the UFC 76 post-fight tests.
Nakamura has been suspended until December 21st and has also been fined $500. Nakamura lost his UFC debut at the event against Ryoto Machida by unanimous decision.
All of the other 17 fighters were tested for drugs of abuse and passed.

they really need to remove this from the banned substance list for fighters…it’s a joke how it could ‘enhance’ ones ability to win a fight

i agree ... the fact that weed is a banned substance is amazing. when vick tested positive, jim rome was saying he should just go get drunk if he needs to unwind…. what a joke. yeah, go get addicted to alchol, cuz it’s harmless, just ask evan tanner if u can find him.
people say weed is the gateway drug and all this other stuff are so full it, they have to be drunk to say those things.
beer is the real gateway… think about… your first buzz; was it from weed or beer or some other alchol?? i imagine about 90% will say some form of alchol. but that should be posted another site i guess lol.

I think the logic is that if the guy is willing to abuse his body and use an illegal substance, what other drug is he willing to do? We may not agree with it, but there is a certain logic to it. Plus, I doubt the CSAC or the UFC want their fighters making the news because they got popped by the police for possession after a fight.

no, there is no logic in it… only that’s it’s illegal. to list it among performance enhancing drugs is to call attention to their ignorance and unibrow way of thinking. this just says they want guys to do steriods, the fine and suspension are just about the same and you’ll be right back in the ring and they’ll give u a title shot, if your really cheating.
also, to think if they are smoking pot they are more likely to do more, well that’s absurd and not logical.
i could go on and on about the health issues between weed, alchol and steriods… but i got poker to play so i’ll just say, Robert Parish played around 20 plus years in the nba and he smoked an ounce a month at least and was never hurt…. yet wait i said i wasn’t gonna get in to it… later.
