Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Gegard “The Dreamcatcher” Mousasi has pulled out of his upcoming bout with Rameau Thierry Sokodjou in the semifinals of the Super Hulk tournament at DREAM 11. No replacement has been announced at this time.
According to MMAWeekly.com, Mousasi may have suffered a shoulder injury last month while taking part in a grappling exhibition with former PRIDE heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko at M-1: Breakthrough.
Mousasi, a member of the Red Devil Fight Club, possesses an impressive mixed martial arts record of 26-2-1. Mousasi holds victories over the likes of Dong Sik Yoon, Melvin Manhoef, Denis Kang, Hector Lombard, and Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza.
Mousasi was last in action at Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg where he scored an impressive knockout over Renato “Babalu” Sobral to become the new Strikeforce light heavyweight champion.
