Featherweight Jesse Moreng has been forced to bow out of his upcoming scheduled bout against Scott Jorgensen at World Extreme Cagefighting’s next event on February 13th at the Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

The news comes from MMA Weekly, who has confirmed that Moreng fractured his foot during training this week and is unable to walk on the foot let alone train for the fight any longer according to sources close to Tempe, Arizona native.

No word as of yet on whether a replacement opponent will be found for Jorgensen or if the bout will be scrapped altogether.

The Jorgenson fight was slated to Moreng’s second inside the confines of the WEC. Moreng was submitted by Micah Miller in his debut last March. The 29-year-old started his career off with an eight-fight winning streak prior to loss to Miller.

The event, which features champions Carlos Condit, Rob McCullough, and Chase Beebe all defending their belts in separate bouts, will be the promotion’s first show outside of Las Vegas since Zuffa purchased the company in the fall of 2006.
