
MMA Junkie is reporting that Nathan Marquardt has signed a new four-fight contract with the UFC. The new deal will go into effect at UFC 81 when Marquardt steps into the octagon with fellow UFC middleweight contender Thales Leites.
Nate Marquardt (25-7-2) is coming off of a tough knockout loss to the hands of UFC middleweight champion Anderson “The Spider” Silva at UFC 73: Stacked. Marquardt holds UFC victories over Ivan Salaverry, Joe Doerksen, Crafton Wallace and Dean Lister.
Thales Leites (12-1) is currently on a three fight win streak with victories over Pete Sell, Floyd Swork and Ryan Jensen.
