If David Loiseau can defeat “Ultimate Fighter” alumnus Solomon Hutcherson in the main event of XMMA 5 this weekend, he may be finding his way back to the UFC, somewhere where he been dreaming of returning to and hasn’t fought in since losing to Mike Swick at UFC 63 almost two years ago.
From Fightlinker:
Now David’s got another chance to get back into the UFC. According to his manager Steve Claveau, the UFC will offer him a contract if he takes out Solomon Hutcherson this Saturday. If that name is ringing vague bells in your head, it’s because Solomon was one of the lesser known dudes on the 3rd season of TUF, getting the boot after losing to Rory Singer on the show and then Luigi Fioravanti on the finale.
I don’t think anyone would complain if Loiseau was invited back into the UFC. He always put forth effort and the majority of his fights were pretty exciting. Plus now that he’s with Greg Jackson‘s camp, we could see a different Loiseau altogether.
The XMMA 5 card is looking pretty decent. On top of Loiseau-Hutcherson, UFC veteran Aaron Riley, skilled grappler Gustavo Machado, and former IFL middleweight Brent Beauparlant will all also be on competing.
In semi-related Canadian news, Brian Gassaway has reportedly pulled out of his scheduled bout against T.J. Grant at TKO 35 due to personal reasons. He has been replaced by UFC veteran Forrest Petz according to Andy Cotterill of Sherdog.com.
TKO Championship Fighting President Stephane Patry has also stated that the winner of Grant-Petz will get a shot at Jesse Bongfeldt’s welterweight title at TKO 36 in December.

A motivated Loiseau is a very dangerous fighter, the issue with me was that he didn’t have that killer instinct in his last couple of fights, he turned it on in the last round against Swick and could have won that fight if he fought like that the entire fight - he made no effort against a broken Franklin either which really bothered me…
One can only assume that a new camp means a refreshed fighter, especially a camp like Jackson’s…Personally, I am excited about seeing Loiseau back in the UFC

Im right with you Martin. I wasn’t trying to come off like he is only back due to the week MW division. He has always been one of the more entertaining fighters to watch with his sick cutting elbows and such. He absolutely should be in the UFC, at any weight.

REPRESENT CANADA!!!
I can see him workin his way through the ranks, a new capaign, new camp and new Loiseau.
Hell yeah

With how thin the UFC’s MW division is, makes perfect sense.
