The Ultimate Fighting Championship today made official two featured bouts for UFC 106, which will take place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday, November 21.

In the show’s main event, Brock Lesnar will defend his UFC heavyweight title against undefeated contender Shane Carwin. Also, former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz will make yet another return to the Octagon to face inaugural UFC heavyweight champ and UFC Hall of Fame member Mark Coleman.

After stopping Randy Couture with strikes last November to earn the UFC heavyweight title, Lesnar (4-1) unified his belt with interim champion Frank Mir, avenging his only professional loss in a rematch with Mir at UFC 100 in July.

Carwin (11-0) has been victorious in all of his eleven professional bouts to date with three of those wins coming inside the confines of the UFC. Impressive first-round TKO wins over Christian Wellisch and Neil Wain were topped by Carwin’s biggest career win to date, a first-round demolition of Gabriel Gonzaga at March’s UFC 96.

Ortiz (15-6-1) returns to the UFC after leaving the promotion temporarily to test the free agent waters. “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” has struggled in his most recent showings, dropping bouts to Lyoto Machida and Chuck Liddell while drawing with Rashad Evans.

Following a ten-year break in between UFC bouts, Coleman (16-9) has split his two UFC matches since his return to the organization. After being defeated in an all-out war against Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in January, Coleman bounced back to earn a unanimous decision over Stephan Bonnar at UFC 100.

Additional bouts expected to take place at UFC 106 include Ricardo Almeida making his welterweight debut against former title challenger Jon Fitch and popular veteran Phil Baroni returning to the UFC against “Ultimate Fighter” winner Amir Sadollah.
