A pivotal middleweight clash between seasoned veteran Chris Leben and standout wrestler Mark Munoz will headline the UFC's return to the UK on November 5, the promotion announced today.
UFC 138 will take place at the LG Arena in Birmingham, England and air via tape delay on Spike in North America. The bout between Leben and Munoz will also be the first non-title, five-round main event in UFC history.
Both Leben and Munoz have been on a rise up the middleweight rankings as of late and the winner of their meeting this fall will bring them one step closer to a potential title shot in the near future.
Leben has won four of his last five bouts under the UFC banner. A three-fight winning streak was snapped by Brian Stann at UFC 125 in January, but the "TUF" product bounced back with a possible career-defining 27-second KO of longtime PRIDE middleweight king Wanderlei Silva at UFC 132 earlier this month.
Munoz is currently riding a three-fight win streak, which includes a unanimous decision over fellow grappler Aaron Simpson, an impressive stoppage of C.B. Dollaway and most recently, a hard-fought, three-round unanimous decision win over former title challenger Demian Maia in June.
