Lightweight contender Joe “J-Lau” Lauzon and former TKO lightweight champion Sam “Hands of Stone” Stout will meet at UFC 108 on January 8 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In an interview with Sherdog.com, Lauzon said, “I’m very happy with this fight. Sam is very tough and has a great stand-up game. His wrestling and ground game have jumped with every fight and I expect nothing less from him in this one.”

Lauzon, a native of Brockton, Massachusetts, possesses a mixed martial arts record of 18-4. Lauzon holds victories over the likes of Jens Pulver, Mike Brown, Kyle Bradley, and Jason Reinhardt.

Lauzon was last in action at UFC Fight Night 17 where he secured an armbar victory over lightweight prospect Jeremy Stephens. Following the bout, Lauzon underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL and meniscus.

Stout, a native of London, Ontario, possesses a mixed martial arts record of 14-5-1. Stout holds victories over the likes of Spencer Fisher, Fabio Holanda, Jay Estrada, Matt Wiman, and Martin Grandmont.

Stout was originally slated to face Phillipe Nover at UFC Fight Night 19 but the fight was canceled when Nover suffered a seizure while warming up in his locker room.
