The Wrestling Observer is reporting UFC veteran Kit Cope tested positive for steroids after his fight this past weekend at WEC: McCullough vs. Cope.
Kit Cope, who headlined Zuffa’s first World Extreme Cagefighting event on Saturday night in Las Vegas, tested positive for the steroid Boldenone (Equipoise) according to the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
Cope, 29, lost to “Razor” Rob McCullough in the main event of the show at the Hard Rock Hotel, in a match for the vacant WEC lightweight title. He was stopped in 2:53 with strikes on the ground.
Boldenone is an anabolic agent which was developed veterinary use. The purpose of the drug is to rehabilitate injured horses. Boldenone is the same substance both Josh Barnett and Stephan Bonnar tested positive for and each guy received a lengthy suspension. Trace amounts of the drug can easily be detected months after the user stops consuming the substance.
