After weeks of speculation, UFC officials have announced that Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson will return to the octagon on Saturday, May 8 at UFC 113 in a heavyweight showdown with fellow The Ultimate Fighter veteran Matt Mitrione.
Slice, a native of Miami, Florida, possesses a mixed martial arts record of 4-1. Slice holds victories over the likes of Bo Cantrell, David “Tank” Abbott, and James Thompson. Slice made his UFC debut at the TUF 10 finale last December where he scored a unanimous decision over Houston Alexander.
Mitrione, an NFL veteran, made his UFC and mixed martial arts debut at the TUF 10 finale last December. Mitrione scored an impressive knockout over TUF rival Marcus Jones.
UFC 113: Machida vs. Shogun 2 is set for Saturday, May 8 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec. The card will feature a rematch between Lyoto Machida and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua for the UFC light heavyweight title.
