Jackson Due in Court Next Month

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson will reportedly have his day in California court on August 15th, facing violations of felony hit-and-run, evading police, and reckless driving.

The news comes from a report by the Long Beach Press-Telegram. Jackson is scheduled to appear in front of a judge at the Harbor Justice Center in Laguna Niguel to face his charges. Jackson was arrested Tuesday following a high-speed chase involving Costa Mesa police officers after he reportedly fled the scene of an accident he was involved in.

Jackson reportedly struck three more vehicles, ran through numerous red lights, and nearly struck pedestrians on the sidewalk before finally voluntarily stopping. He was taken into custody at gunpoint but without incident. No one was injured.

The newspaper also confirms previous reports that UFC President Dana White did indeed fly to California upon learning of the arrest and arranged bail for Jackson at the Orange County central jail. The Press-Telegram cites the UFC as confirming the information but not releasing anything further.

August 15th? That’s my birthday

The biggest question is, why was he fleeing the scene of an accident? What would possess him to run into 3 more cars and run through red lights to get away? Did he have drugs in his truck or something? That is the question I’d like answered…why flee? I’m not even sure I want to know the answer.

Obviously everyone knows he was in an accident because his face is plastered on the side of his truck. So he knew he was busted in that respect. I just wonder why he would run then? ...obviously hiding something.

I don’t think anyone was in the truck with him. The police probably came up to the passenger-side door like that because his windows were completely tinted and they had to err on the side of caution, just in case there was someone else in there.

Funny that you mentioned the picture on the side of his truck. I like Rampage, but who the hell plasters the side of their truck with their own picture?

The first accident may have been an accident, but when you hit the second and third cars and keep going, it is leaving the scene for sure.

Nice move Rampage, way to help the UFC show all the nay sayers that the UFC isn’t full of idiots.

John, i thought in the video the people taking it said there somebody inside the truck. Looked like police were gettting them out of the drivers side it looked like. but they might of thought there somebody in there just by the way the police were acting….

I wanna know why the hell dana bailed him out. Hes always kicking people out of TUF for doing stupid shit. And this is wayyy bigger than any of that.. And hes the first to bail him out.. WTF??

prob because the tuf guys are not under contract yet and they’ve invested in rampage. Also by dana doing this makes think this is more mental issues rather than drugs. ... maybe rampage has had mental health issues in the past that Dana n Ufc knows about but has been kept hidden? hell i bet you figured out i don’t know what the hell i’m talking about lol. but i think i guessed pretty good there….

Well youll all pleased to know that dana white was on my radio station this morning on The EDGE 102.1 in dallas tx. And he said that rampage just had a mental breakdown. And hes got some issues that need to be worked out. He didnt explain what really was the problem. but i figure since he lost the belt and all people are treating him differently now. And he cant take it.. My only guess. Hope he gets his shit worked out.
